FIRE EPARTMEIMT The progress made iu the Pire Department of the Company has been very marked, and is the result of the promptitude with which Claims for loss or damage by Fire have always been met. The utmost Security is afl'orded to Insurers by the ample Capital and large Reserve Fund, in addition to the annual Income from Premiums. Insurances are granted at Moderate Rates upon almost every description of Property. Seven Years' Policies are issued at a charge for Six Years only. Rents Insm-ed at the same rate of Premium as that charged for Buildings, but must have a separate £am placed thereon. Household Insurances. —As it is sometimes inconvenient to specify in detail the contents of dwelling-houses, and to value them separately for Insurance, the '* Lancashire" grants Policies at an annual premium of 2s per cent., covering "Household Goods and Property of every description " in one sum. Agfricultural Produce, Parming' Stock (Live Stock excepted), Imple- ments and Utensils of Husbandry, subject to condition of average, 10s per cent. Live Stock separately Insured without average at 3s per cent. Use of Steam Thrashing JMachine allowed without extra charge. Animals killed by Lightning are paid for by this Company if Insured against Fire. Distilleries, Woollen Mills, Warehouses, Ships in Docks, and all Mercantile Property Insured on favourable terms. Short-period Policies are granted, and Policy and Stamp Duties paid by the Company. Policies of other Companies Transferred free of expense. LIFE DEPARTMENT Indisputable World-wide Policies. Passengers from all Through Booking Stations in England and from Through Booking Stations in Scotland south of and including Perth and Dundee, to Forres, Nairn, Inver- ness, Strathpeffer, Wick, Thurso, and other Stations on the Highland Railway, may on request at the time of booking have Toiirist or ordinary Return Tickets made available to travel via Aberdeen on the outward journey and via Dunkeld on the return journey ; or the Tickets may be made out to go via Dunkeld and return via Aberdeen. SCENERY. The Great North of Scotland Railway passes through some of the finest scenery in Scotland. The variety is most pleasing. At one part the Tourist traverses fine agri- cultural districts, with beautiful sylvan and river scenery ; at the next he is surrounded by high hills, rising here and there to mountains : while for coast scenery nothing could be finer than the prospect from the Coast Line, which skirts the southern shore of the Moray Firth. The Cruden Railway affords access to a romantic part of the sea-coast famed for ts magnificent rock scenery, marked by towering cliffs and subterranean caves, anon softening into sand dunes and hard sandy beach. The Deeside Line, which runs along, the picturesque vaUey of the Dee, terminates at Ballater, among the grandest mountain scenery in the Kingdom. BALMORAL, the King's Highland home, is within nine miles of Ballater. Coaches run daily during Summer between BALLATER and BRAEMAR, via Balmoral. aOLF. There are excellent Golf Courses at many places on the Railway. A full list may be obtained on application. The Company's Golf Course at Cruden Bay is pro- nounced by Prominent Golfers to be one of the best in the King^dom. CRUDEN BAY . (Thirty Miles from Aberdeen) Is a new Sea-side and Golfing Resort.
