There then followed a detailed, and long debate regarding the concerns of the Chinnock Hollow Action Group. The summary of the discussion can be found at the end of the minutes The actions to be taken are outlined in the minutes of the meeting. 1. Apologies for absence Mrs Kemp, Mrs Merchant, Mr Harris 2. Minutes of the last meeting The minutes from the last meeting, which had been previously circulated to Members were approved and the Chairman signed them as a true record of the meeting 4. Matters arising from the minutes • 22 Orchardleigh – At the last meeting some parishioners reported that they were concerned over the state of this empty house. Mr Pallister has contacted the Empty Houses Team who have in turn contacted the owners. The owners have assured the council that they intend to get the house back into a suitable state of repair for renting. -

WESTONZOYLAND PARISH COUNCIL MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 13 MARCH 2017 AT 7.30 PM AT THE VILLAGE HALL WESTONZOYLAND PRESENT: Cllrs Mrs Fisher (Chairman - in the Chair), Alder, Mrs Ballard, Burge, Carson , Evans, Ms Perry and Spurrell County Cllr David Hall (County Council Ward Member) was also present 60+ members of the public, largely from Westonzoyland and Middlezoy Parishes were also present APOLOGY: Cllr Griffiths 82/16 Police and PCSO Report PCSO 8733 Anuska Rourke, a member of the Bridgwater Rural Team, was in attendance. PCSO Rourke gave a brief report on recent activities, particularly drawing attention to problems with rural burglaries. She sought vigilance from all members of the community. She would confirm telephone contact details and in the meantime could be contacted by email. Members related a particular issue with parking on pavements and in the vicinity of the A372/Kings Drive junction which the PCSO would follow up. 83/16 Planning Application 53/17/02 - Power Poles at Westonzoyland Airfield With this item on the Agenda and the representation from interested members of the public, the Chairman adjourned the formal meeting to enable members of the public to comment on the application and raise issues. Significant issues were raised in opposition to the proposal and were discussed at length. It was indicated that the address in the application should be Burdenham Drove and not Springway Lane. The Parish Council unanimously supported opposition to the planning proposal contained in the application for reasons which are included in Min 90/16 Below. RESOLVED: 1. -

DORSET FOOTNOTES Newsletter of the Dorset Area of the Ramblers Association ISSUE NO. 69 Autumn 2014 TEN WALKING MISTAKES TO AVOID alking the right way can help you walk faster and more smoothly. Walking the wrong way can lead Wto wasted effort or even injury. The Human Resources team at McMaster University have come up with 10 walking mistakes to avoid, some are fairly obvious but still worth stating. 1: Over striding - When walkers try to walk faster, a natural inclination is to lengthen your stride in front, reaching out further with your forward foot. This leads to an ungainly gait, striking hard with the feet and making your shins hurt. The cure: All of the power of your walk comes from pushing with the back leg and foot; concentrate on taking shorter, quicker steps then think of really rolling through your step with your back foot and leg, getting a good push off. 2: The Wrong Boots – Heavy, stiff, too small when foot swells while walking. The cure: Get fitted for the right boots that are flexible enough for walking and sized right for those swelling feet. 3: Flapping, Slapping Feet - Your feet hit the ground with a slap and get no roll. You may develop shin pain. The cure: Get flexible boots that bend at the ball of the foot. 4: No Arms - You keep your arms still at your sides while walking, or swing them without bending them. You notice that your hands swell quite a bit while walking. A normal walking motion uses the arms to counterbalance the leg motion. -
