Our country is secular, it is true, but there is no denying the fact that religlpus and moraleducation has a very useful function to serve. Modern psychology\rasemphasised tha,t if the child is given proper guidance at his formative stage it will greatly help integrate his personality. Key Points About: The last of the ten Sikh Gurus, Guru Gobind Singh was born on 22nd December, 1666 in Patna, Bihar. His birth anniversary is based on the Nanakshahi calendar according to which it will fall on January 20 in 2021 while for the last year, it was celebrated on January 2. He became the Sikh guru at the age of nine, following the demise of his father, Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru. He was assassinated in 1708. 1/2 Contributions: Religious: He is known for his significant contributions to the Sikh religion, including the introduction of the turban to cover hair. He also founded the principles of Khalsa or the Five ‘K’s. The Five K’s are kesh (uncut hair), kanga (wooden comb), kara (iron or steel bracelet), kirpan (dagger) and kachera (short breeches). These were the five articles of faith that a Khalsa must always adorn. He also laid down many other rules for the Khalsa warriors to follow like abstaining from tobacco, alcohol, halal meat, etc. The Khalsa warrior was also duty-bound to protect innocent people from persecution. He named Guru Granth Sahib, the religious text of the Khalsas and the Sikhs, as the next Guru of the two communities. Martial: He fought against the Mughals in the battle of Muktsar in 1705. In the Battle of Anandpur (1704), the Guru lost his mother and two minor sons who were executed.

Our last yearbook was in 2011-2012 when we were in Madison Heights. In September 2012, we moved to the new gurdwara in Sterling Heights. We thank Vaheguru for providing us a much better place to learn our language, our history and Gurbani. Some students still remember the days in Madison Heights when the cutting of onions near the classrooms just before class time would bring tears in their eyes. We don't have to worry about it now. Vaheguru has blessed us with very good place to study. In the first year at the new place, enrollment increased beyond expectation. We seemed to have run out of capacity in the first year itself. The teachers were not prepared for this but with their dedication and devotion they were able to handle the large class size. Everybody was excited to come to the gurdwara Saturday afternoon and be part of the activity. We had 5 different grades starting from Kindergarten up to Grade 4 and each grade had its own classroom. As the students showed a great desire to learn more, we enhanced our curriculum. Gurbani classes were limited to Japji Sahib but with the enhancements, a number of other banis were added. Due to this a sixth class was started in 2013. Grade 5 is more focused on understanding the meanings of various banis. Another major enhancement was in the Keertan program with the addition of a professional teacher.

Prof. of Political Science M.L.N College, Yamuna Nagar, KurukshetraUniversityKurukshetra Abstract: Guru Gobind Singhji is one of the greatest heroes of human history. The world at large knows him for the spirit of sacrifice as a rare martyr who gave his all for Dharma in the service of humanity. As a great Karma Yogi, he fought the evil forces giving personal direction to his followers. He is a rare saint soldier who made Khalsa, his followers, so unique that he submitted himself to the collective will of the Khalsa as God’s soldiers. He raised them from the position of passive and peaceful devotees of God to courageous and tough fighters for righteousness. For Guru Gobind Singhji, the means always determined the quality of ends. The main objective of this research paper is to find out the managerial sagacity from the life history of the Guru Gobind Singh which can sensitize the global business leaders towards value-based management for sustainable growth and success. Managers can build ethical socially responsible organizations by imbibing the Sikh model of ethical managerial conduct and can initiate a move to come out of the vicious circle of ailments prevailing in the society and system. It will lead to a situation where one can remain detached as the lotus in the filthy water remains detached.

    Mata Jeeto Ji ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀਤੋ ਜੀ During the baptism ceremony of the Khalsa in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave Mata Jeeto Ji the 1673 - 1700 honour of participating in the first baptism, by adding sugar cakes (patashas) to water which were stirred with the khanda (double edged sword) and administered to the Khalsa as Amrit (sweet water). Mata Khivi Ji ਮਾਤਾ ਖੀਵੀ ਜੀ 1506 - 1582 Mata Khivi Ji was the wife of Guru Angad Ji and was in of charge the Langar Seva (Community Kitchen). She was an unlimited source of bounty and helped create a new social consciousness for women. Bibi Bhani Ji ਬੀਬੀ ਭਾਨੀ ਜੀ 1535 - 1598 Bibi Bhani Ji has a unique position in Sikh history as the daughter of Guru Amar Das Ji, wife of Guru Ram Das Ji and mother of Guru Arjun Dev Ji. Bibi Bhani Ji was an inspiration during the formative period of Sikh history and symbolises responsibility, dedication, humility and fortitude. Mata Sahib Kaur Ji Due to Mata Sahhib Kaur Ji’s commitment to Sikhi and her purity, Guru Gobind ਮਾਤਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ Singh Ji declared that Sikhs should 1681 - 1747 consider Mata Sahib Kaur Ji as the spiritual mother of the Khalsa. Mai Bhag Kaur Ji Mai Bhago Ji was the brave women who shamed the 40 deserters to ਮਾਤਾ ਭਾਗ ਕੌਰ ਜੀ return to the battle of Muktsar. 1666 She led them into battle where they achieved martyrdom and were blessed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
