With the start of a new year, we all resolve to make changes to better Page 2 Special Events & our lives. For most people, losing weight, eating better, and exercising Activities are at the top of our list. Page 3 Special Events & Activities For those wishing to become healthier in the New Year, the Bismarck Senior Center is here to help! In January, we are starting our 3rd Page 4 Special Events & 20 Mile Walk. We will be offering Yoga and Tai Chi Chih. We also Activities have two stationary bicycles available for your use. Please see page Page 5 SE Burleigh Golden 10 for more information on these activities and how to sign up. And, Age Club News as always, we have a nutritious noon meal for your Page 6 Golden Wing Club enjoyment. News / This & That With your goal for a healthier you, I would like to focus on the Page 7 Dining Calendar importance of drinking water. A person should consume at least one cup of water for every 20 pounds of body weight daily. That’s around Page 8 Activities Calendar 6-8 glasses for the average person. The book for discussion is Downtown Owl, authored by Chuck Klosterman. (Provided by State Library Book Kit, may be picked up at the Site Manager’s desk after December 21.) Set in a fictitious North Dakota town, Klosterman features three completely different characters who have never met but have the same question...what is “normal”? Follow their journeys as they try to survive a blizzard, 80’s pop culture, and their search for an answer. LEGAL SERVICES OF ND Legal Services of ND is a non-profit organization providing legal help to disadvantaged elderly and low-income North Dakotans. LSND typically meets with individuals by appointment on the second Wednesday of each month at the Bismarck Senior Center. LSND will be at the Senior Center on Wednesday, January 13. If you would like to meet with them, you must call to schedule an appointment.
