Londonderry Middle School put out a cover contest with an open theme. Using her skills with the Google Suite, Mia created a representation and visual of all the schools in the form of a Google Meet call. Introduction Accent on Achievement provides a descriptive profile of our school district, a progress report which demonstrates the educational effectiveness of our school system, and with careful reflection and analysis may indicate areas for continued change and improvement. The compilation and distribution of this report is in keeping with the School Board’s desire for both accountability and communication with our public. The employees of our district are proud of our educational programs and learner accomplishments. From the onset of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic in March of 2020, the normal operations of the school district changed dramatically for the spring of 2020 as we stayed in remote instruction the entire time; as well as our reopening in August 2020 where we built two schools systems; one in person with public safety measures in place, and one for families wishing to continue in remote instruction. Where it was appropriate to capture these dramatic changes for our school district in Accent on Achievement we did. However, we did not take extra steps to describe and capture the immense effort that went into the two major redesigns of our school system over the last year. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support of the community during these challenging times. We are humbled by our staff’s dedication to our students over this time period and their willingness to make our school system work despite all these challenges. Included in this report are our goals, beliefs, and values that we believe are necessary components for quality education and the projects, opportunities, and data which indicate the degree of effectiveness and achievement. In addition to the objective, quantifiable data presented in the following pages, a review of the literature on high performing schools identifies several other factors that contribute to their effectiveness. Among these identified factors are strong leadership, school mission focused on students and results, staff agreement on the general approach to teaching and learning, a civil and safe school climate, and a view of schools as problem-solving institutions. It must be understood that no single indicator gives a complete picture. All indicators should be examined and reviewed over time to gain an understanding of the school district’s accomplishments and a clear view of the quality of educational experiences provided for our young people. Whenever possible, comparisons are made using data from the district, state, and the nation. The indicators in this report will be updated annually and will form the basis of continual review and analysis. Londonderry schools have a reputation for excellence. The data in this report provides the vehicle for continuous improvement. 3 Accent on Achievement 2020 Vision, Mission, and Motto Our Shared Vision: The Londonderry School District will provide appropriate individualized academic, social, emotional and physical learning opportunities in order to establish a dynamic foundation for quality education and continued student growth. Our Mission: Our mission is to provide all students with the vision, skills, and knowledge necessary to maximize their individual potential. Central to this accomplishment is the collaboration among all shareholders and disciplines so that students can become contributing members of society and appreciate that learning is a life-long process. Our Motto: “Giving Wings to Children’s Dreams” 4 Accent on Achievement 2020 Our Shared Beliefs We believe that all members of our community are responsible for student learning and performance. It depicts the 1987 special United States Bicentennial Constitution Coin which was designed by Londonderry's own Patricia Verani. HALL Born: December 16, 1902 Died: January 31, 1987 Charlie was born and lived most of his life in Londonderry together with his wife, Lillian. Along with his brother, Leon and their wives, he owned and operated Hall's General Store in the village. He retired in 1962. Charlie was very active in town affairs; serving as State Representative, Select- man, Trust Officer, Supervisor of the Checklist and Auditor, as well as a member of the Budget Committee and the Planning Board. In his younger years, he was very active in Londonderry's Boy Scout Troop 109 and did much for the children of the community. One of his greatest accomplishments came as a result of his efforts in the purchase of the Grenier Field property and the formation of the Londonderry Hous- ing and Redevelopment Authority.

Kane is the first Gatorade New Hampshire Girls Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Pinkerton Academy. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Kane as New Hampshire’s best high school girls basketball player. Now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year award to be announced in March, Kane joins an elite alumni association of state award-winners in 12 sports, including Maya Moore (2005-06, Collins Hill High School, Ga.), Rashanda McCants (2004-05, Asheville High School, N.C.), Candace Parker (2001-02, 2002-03 & 2003-04, Naperville Central High School, Ill.), Diana Taurasi (1998-99 & 1999-00, Don Antonio Lugo High School, Calif.), Shyra Ely (1999-00, Ben Davis High School, Ind.) and Lisa Leslie (1988-89, Morningside High School, Calif.). The 6-foot senior forward had led the Astros to a 19-3 record and a berth in the Division I state tournament semifinals at the time of her selection. Courtesy Lotte Jacobi (2) -AMERICAN POET LAUREATE- ROBERT FROST Derry Resident 1900-1911 Robert Lee Frost was born on March 26, 1875, in 'San Francis- co, California. At the age of ten, he journeyed to New England where he encountered a new way of life. In 1892 Robert graduated from Law- rence High School as senior class poet and valedictorian. Three years later he married Elinor M. White, a classmate at Lawijgnce High. Working at a spinning mill and seeking an education at Hax-vard, Robert felt stifled. It was at this time, due to ill health, that he sought refuge in Derry, New Hampshire. He settled near historic West Running Brook on a homestead which his grandfather provided. Farming was a peaceful change for Robert and it enabled him to be near nature. He developed a keen sense of interpreting the scenes and sounds around him. It was during this time, that he wrote the majority of the poems later published in A Boy's Will and North of Boston and several of those Mountain Interval. While not participating often in formal social gatherings, Frost was well liked by the villagers. His devoted wife and four children, a field of flowers, and a sheet of scratch paper afforded him plea- sure. Because of his very shy and diffident manner. Frost's work was unknown in Derry until after he had read some of his poems at the Derry Village Men's Club.

    TOWN OF DERRY, NEW HAMPSHIRE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT POLICY: Park, Facility & Athletic Field Use Purpose: To clearly define policies and procedures for overall use of Department park areas, facilities, and athletic fields. Introduction: The Parks & Recreation Department has established the following comprehensive policies and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient use and equitable availability of the various facilities operated and managed by the Department. This is an updated version and replaces the policies and procedures manual adopted in 1999. The Town of Derry Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to modify these policies and procedures and to develop and subsequently enforce additional rules and regulations to properly safeguard the parks, facilities, and athletic fields, as well as the patrons and/or organizations that reserve and/or utilize the park areas. Rules and regulations concerning the proper use of a park/facility, as well as a cancellation policy is also included within the confines of this policy. The Department has an extensive reservation policy and established criteria which it has incorporated into this policy. This policy will also outline acceptable field usage standards, guidelines, and closure procedures. This policy also details site specific park regulations and corresponding programming rules. Definition, Criteria & Priorities for Facility Usage Four priority categories of facility users are established and shall be considered in the allocation and/or scheduling of all park areas, facilities, and ball fields under the jurisdiction of the Department. The Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to establish such priorities based upon factors that include the organization, residency status, number of participants, and any potential impact to a given facility and/or the residents of the Town of Derry.

Voters are further notified to meet at the Matthew Thornton School Auditorium on Fri- day, March 13, 1987 at seven o'clock in the afternoon to act upon other articles and all other matters to come before the meeting. ARTICLE 1 To choose all necessary Town Officers for the ensuing year, or until another is chosen or appointed and qualified.
