March 14, 2011 Full 2011 Line-up Announced

A line-up of Australia’s hottest bands will join The Presets and Birds of Tokyo in entertaining Darwin at the BASSINTHEGRASS Festival this May.

The Chief Minister, Paul Henderson, today revealed the full line-up would include Sneaky Sound System , indie supremos British India , electronic outfit Art vs Science and darling Hayley Warner .

“Crowds will also have the chance to see dance troupe Justice Crew perform their magic on stage,” Mr Henderson said.

“Bass in the Grass continues to get bigger and better and this year’s line-up promises to give top end music fans a fantastic day and night of entertainment.”

Mr Henderson announced the line-up at Nightcliff Middle School today, where budding musicians were gearing up for this year’s Battle of the Bands competition.

“It’s always great to see so many young Territorians passionate about music – I look forward to watching this year’s Battle of the Bands winner join the Bass in the Grass line-up,” Mr Henderson said.

Battle of the Bands heats are being held at the moment with the inaugural heat held last week in Nhulunbuy, Alice Springs this Thursday at Centralian Senior College, Palmerston at the Senior College on March 22 and Casuarina Secondary College on March 31.

The final will be held at the Youth Week concert on Friday April 8 at Casuarina Pool – with the winner playing at Bass in the Grass 2011.
