Describes equipment that can be used in small-area forestry operations, defined here as operations on areas 10 acres or smaller. The traits that were considered desirable for small-area forestry equip- ment were high maneuverability, ability to work in tight spaces, ready availability, reliability, and the ability to work lightly on the land. Appendixes contain listings of machinery and attachments that can be used for small-area forestry opera- tions as well as the addresses of manufacturers.
