    09-10-2020 07:30 CEST Andreas Bakkerud testet Extreme E I forrige uke fikk Andreas Bakkerud sin første test med den nye elektriske rallybilen som skal brukes i mesterskapet Extreme E. Bergenseren er aktuell som en av førerne i mesterskapet, som starter med et løp i Saudi-Arabia i slutten av mars. Extreme E er et nytt bilsportmesterskap hvor det skal kjøres med elektriske biler på steder hvor klimaendringer har gjort seg gjeldende for å skape oppmerksomhet rundt global oppvarming, og vise at elektrisk mobilitet kan være en del av løsningen for planeten. Løpene vil ha etapper som minner litt om Dakar Rally, og en kvinnelig og en mannlig deltaker skal dele på hver bil. En rekke velkjente team fra internasjonal motorsport er klare som X44, eid av Formel 1-verdensmester Lewis Hamilton, Andretti Autosport, Abt Sportsline og Chip Ganassi Racing. Flere førere er allerede klare som svenskene Mattias Ekström og Timmy Hansen, amerikanerne Kyle Leduc og Sara Price, og Katie Munnings fra Storbritannia. En annen som er aktuell er den norske rallycrossføreren Andreas Bakkerud. Brembo will exhibit the latest in competition braking technology at booth #3631 at the PRI Show in Indianapolis this week, December 8-10. Forty-one years ago Brembo’s first world championship was celebrated as Niki Lauda won his first F1 crown with Ferrari in 1975. Brembo was hoping for great results in 2016 and their teams did not disappoint. Brembo once again provided the stopping power for the 2016 F1 Championship with Brembo teams winning all 21 races this year. This makes it 22 World Championship Drivers’ and 26 World Championship Constructors’ titles in the past 41 years. In addition, Brembo continued for the fifth-straight year as the exclusive supplier of brake systems for the IndyCar Series with France’s Simon Pagenaud winning his first IndyCar crown in the #22 Team Penske Chevrolet. When one thinks of Brembo, sports car racing immediately comes to mind and rightfully so. In 2016, Brembo won its 24th overall victory in 24 years at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the #2 Porsche 919 Hybrid (Dumas/Jani/Lieb) topped the podium. In addition, Brembo-equipped teams were crowned champions in LMP2 (Signatech), GTE-Pro (Ford) and GTE-Am (Ferrari). The GTE-Pro win by the Ford GT on Brembo brakes was historic as the team defended a hard fought win in much the same style over Ferrari as they did 50 years ago.

In addition to the racing, two concerts will take place: on Friday night at 6:45 p.m., the SMG Fiesta Friday concert will feature popular local Latino band "Ozomatli," while on Saturday night, SMG Presents The Cult will entertain the Grand Prix crowd. The Lifestyle Expo, located in the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, will see more than 180,000 Grand Prix fans walk through multiple times. Our annual media luncheon takes place on Thursday, April 12, and will feature drivers from many of the racing series that will be here over the weekend.     ZENITH KEEPS EXTREME E RACE ON TIME IN DAKAR AT OCEAN X PRIX After a blazing start in April on the dunes of AlUla, Saudi Arabia, the second race in the first season of Extreme E went on full-throttle in Dakar, Senegal. Zenith is on board as Official Timekeeper and Founding Partner of Extreme E, the new off-road electric racing championship that highlights remote environments under threat of climate change and pollution. The pioneering electric SUV off-road racing series took to the beaches of Dakar for the second race of the new championship’s debut series, dubbed the Ocean X Prix. After a promising qualifying run on Saturday, the teams gave it their all for a dramatic and exciting race on Sunday. Riding high from their pole position at Desert X Prix in AlUla, Rosberg X Racing’s Molly Taylor and Johan Kristoffersson ended the race with their team in the top spot. Zenith CEO Julien Tornare had the pleasure of presenting Veloce team drivers Jamie Chadwick and Stéphane Sarrazin with the trophy for second place after a formidable comeback performance. Segi TV Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kyle LeDuc took home the Super Sector title for the fastest lap earning an extra five points for his team. Zenith Moment in Time Prize – Recognizing Exceptional Performance Alongside the main podium prizes, Zenith gave out the first Zenith Moment in Time award for spectacular performance on the previous race in AlUla, with Extreme E fans also able to vote for the winner on social media. Catie Munnings received a DEFY Midnight for her spectacular performance, courage and ingenuity during the Desert X Prix; a watch that symbolizes the modern, confident and inspiring woman that blazes her own path against all adversity.
