In 2016 we attempted the Guinness World Record for the most number of people making up a human bike image. Unfortunately last year’s attempt at Castle was not given the rubber stamp due to too many patches of grass being visible in the image! Despite this, we were very grateful to the 1007 primary schools pupils and staff who took part in the event (on one of the hottest days of the year!) and we were delighted with the fantastic image they helped us to create. The Women’s Tour is a road bike race. The 3rd Stage of the race will start in Atherstone, then go through the University of Warwick campus, and Warwick town centres, and pass through towns and villages of south Warwickshire before finishing in the centre of Royal Leamington Spa.

National Police Escort Team

There will be 102 riders in 17 teams accompanied by the National Police Escort Team* which consists of 60 motorbikes along with Support Cars for each team.

*The National Police Escort Team is made of up specially trained Police and Volunteers who ride ahead, around and behind the Cyclists to clear traffic and make the route safe for them. They often escort the Royal Family, the Prime Minister and other VIP guests in the UK.
