1.4 MEMORIALS

GUIDELINES/TIPS FOR IMPLEMENTATION • Copies of all documentation should be held in the school records or historical library. • It is appropriate to have a dedication or opening ceremony to accompany the naming of the space. • It should be noted that the decision to undertake a memorial in a school is precedent setting. • Proposals for a memorial that involves naming any type of school space (room, area, or wing) must be submitted to the Board of Trustees for approval. • Proposals for a memorial involving tributes other than naming a portion of the school should be submitted to the Board of Trustees for information/and/or approval.
