Ticketed shows will be held at Capilano University and Presentation House Theatre, with a Supported by: line­up of free, family­friendly shows at Civic Plaza, Lynn Valley Village and the West Vancouver Memorial Library.

Series highlights include Marc Ribot's experimental free punk collective, Ceramic Dog, the one of a kind swing inflected, rockabilly ragtime sounds of Petunia, high energy rock 'n roll, Lucha Libre mask toting instrumental guitar band Los Straitjackets and Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen ­ a southern soul band like no other with the funkiest musicians in .

Four free shows will happen across the two weekends with Armenian born flamenco guitarist Vahagni, jazz fusion with Quebecois­ Vietnamese ensemble Huu Bac Quintet and world music duo Jou Tou, and one of "Vancouver's busiest bands", Brickhouse with their brand of original, funky tracks and cleverly covered classic R&B tunes. Last but not least we'll finish up with a post­modern retro­fusion Afro­American Hokum, country blues and jazz mashup featuring Sweet Papa Lowdown.

For fans who saw him with his band at North Shore Jazz last year, you'll know that he is a true musical gem, not defined by any one genre, but residing somewhere elegantly between rockabilly, country blues, gypsy swing and latin rhythms. He blends the soulful, jazz and R&B heritage of New Orleans with smart, unforgettable melodies and pop accessibility, and incorporates elements of funk and reggae. Armenian­born and LA­based, Vahagni blends flamenco guitar with jazz, folk and classical with an intuitive ability to cross genres and borders. He began learning the guitar from his musician father at age nine and eventually studied under the famous Flamenco guitarist Paco Serrano for two years. With influences as far ranging as Beethoven and Bach to Pat Metheny and flamenco masters such as Niño Ricardo, Vahagni has created a new style with a modern take on flamenco, which, according to him is, "something you have to feel to understand."
