Bridgestone Invitational PGA Tournament – Practice Round CPS OUTING Please note that this event is open to the general public and each CPS member is responsible for their own purchase of tickets at the venue (in advance via website, or at the ticket office on the day of the event). There will not be any group gathering; just come and go as you wish independently, unless you make arrangements to meet other club members in advance. Please follow the directional signs at the venue as Firestone Country Club has three different 18-hole courses. EVENT: CPS OUTING WHERE: Firestone Country Club (South Course), 452 E Warner Rd, Akron, OH 44319 DATE: Wednesday, July 31st 2013 TIME: Gates open to the general public at 7:30 a.m on Wednesday morning. FEE: Tickets must be purchased either in advance or at the ticket office SIGN-UP: Advance sign-up or registration to this event is not required with CPS AVAILABILITY: This event is open to anyone. FIELD TRIP SPONSORS: Roger Moore ([email protected]) and Heidi Krukemeyer This is an incredible opportunity to photograph the top Professional Golf Association’s (PGA) golfers from around the world at a world famous golf course near to the Cleveland metropolitan area. Wednesday is a practice round for the contestants and the only day that the general public may photograph the golfers during their golf practice on the golf course. Get there early if you want a premium location! HISTORY MAKER GOLF Championship Golf Game • Course Summaries Course Collection ONE Blackjack GC, Las Vegas NV / based on TPC SUMMERLIN TPC Summerlin’s layout, carved from a magnificent swath of rugged desert terrain by renowned golf course architect Bobby Weed, provides a good reference for the Blackjack GC. TPC Summerlin’s lush bentgrass greens, numerous water features and an abundance of pine trees all contrast dramatically with undisturbed desert washes. The course features four closing holes that deliver top flight golf drama. The final charge begins with the par 4, 15th hole – a drivable par 4 that will temp most players. If the tee shot misses the green, an “up and down” birdie is possible, but not easy, due to the severely elevated and undulated green – which is surrounded by five bunkers that regularly attract stray tee shots. The 16th hole is a relatively downhill par-5 that is reachable with two good shots. The green is guarded by water short of the green, and bunkers beyond. Only a mid-iron will be necessary for the second shot, with a birdie almost a certainty. A challenging and un-nerving par-3, the 17th hole plays downhill with the green guarded closely by a lake on the left and by bunkers on the right. Par is good score and birdies are rare, should players need to make up ground. The 18th is a well-designed and strategic finishing hole which moves right to left off the tee. The green is protected on the left by a lake. An aggressive tee shot with the driver can leave the player just a short iron to a very deep green from front to back.

Combined with contributions raised at the major championship’s 2019 debut at Firestone Country Club, the tournament has generated over $1.5 million for deserving charities in Northeast Ohio to date. “Professional golf in Northeast Ohio has always been about more than just golf, and in the face of a pandemic that mission stands true more than ever,” said Executive Director Don Padgett. “For decades professional golf has aided in developing a charitable footprint in our region that positively impacts worthy causes.
