Shrimati Sarojini Hembram raised a matter regarding revision of royalty rates for major minerals including iron ore in Odisha. 11-12 a.m. 6. Shri Vaiko raised a matter regarding proposed dumping of nuclear waste in the Kudankulam Atomic Plant. 11-16 a.m. 7. Dr. Banda Prakash raised a matter regarding data on OBC in Census 2021. 11-19 a.m. 8. Shrimati Kahkashan Perween raised a matter regarding need to grant National Fair status to Shravani Mela. 11-20 a.m. 9. Shri Abir Ranjan Biswas raised a matter regarding save 'Hilsa' fish from extinction. 11-23 a.m. 10. Kumari Selja Demand to increase the compensation to farmers for the land required for the construction of NH152D in Haryana by NHAI 2. Shri Prashanta Demand to relax the existing norms of Nanda PMGSY. 3. Shri Ram Shakal Demand to develop Vindhyachal region in Mirzapur division as tourist destination. 4. Shri Rajmani Patel Demand to develop the adjoining area of Chachai Water Fall, District Reva as a sanctuary. 5. Shri Sasmit Patra Demand to raise the coal royalty from 14% to 20% in Odisha and get the dues cleared from Mahanadi Coalfield Limited. At 11-51 a.m. From 11-33 a.m. to 11-35 a.m., some points were raised. 40004 6. Shri Md. Nadimul Demand for granting constitutional status Haque to the National Commission for Minorities. 7. Shri Ram Nath Demand to improve the functioning of Thakur AIIMS at Patna. 8. Shri Binoy Viswam Demand to urgently release the scholarships of Dalits, OBCs and Minorities students. ö11-52 a.m. 5. Government Bills — Passed (1) The Consumer Protection Bill, 2019, as passed by Lok Sabha Shri Ramvilas Paswan, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, moved motion for consideration of the Bill. 12-05 p.m. Shri Derek O' Brien moved the following amendment:— “That the Bill to provide for protection of the interests of consumers and for the said purpose, to establish authorities for timely and effective administration and settlement of consumers' disputes and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, as passed by Lok Sabha, be referred to a Select Committee of the Rajya Sabha, consisting of the following Members:— 1. Shri Tiruchi Siva 2. Shri Javed Ali Khan 3. Shri Sukhendu Sekhar Ray 4. Shri Manish Gupta 5. Shri Manas Ranjan Bhunia 6. Ms. Dola Sen 7. Shri Ahamed Hassan 8. Shri Md. Nadimul Haque 9.     Date: 08/03/2019 Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid Foundation Stone for India’s first Regional Rail and Meerut Metro Service The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today laid the Foundation Stone for the construction of India’s first Regional Rail between Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut and Meerut Metro at Sikandarpur, Ghaziabad. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Hon’ble Shri Yogi Adityanath and Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri V. K. Singh were also present on the occasion. Hon’ble Minister of State with independent charge of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri led the program of foundation stone laying of RRTS and Meerut Metro services in Meerut where the local MP and MLAs were present. The RRTS corridor is being built at a cost of Rs 30,274 crore and is planned to be operationalized by 2024. Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi said, “Giving a new way to next generation urban infrastructure, foundation stone was laid for Delhi- Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) today. This will the first RRTS project built with a cost of Rs 30,000 crore. Rapid rail and metro both will be running on this corridor in meerut. Once this is completed, Delhi-Meerut journey will be covered in less than an hour. Of this RRTS, commuters suffering will be removed and traffic system will be streamlined.” In an immense relief from the road congestion and pollution faced by the commuters travelling between Delhi and Meerut, the RRTS, Regional rail will cover the 82km stretch in less than 60 minutes.
