The ICCF Teddy Roosevelt@International Conservation Award was establishedto recognize innovative U.S. leadershipin conservationpolicy. The ICCF is pleasedto honor the Director of the Office of Managementand Budget, The Honorable , as the first-ever recipient of this award in recognition of his contribution as author of the 1998 Tropical Forest ConservationAct (TFCA). As a result of the enactmentof the TFCA in 1998,millions of acresof tropical forestsand watershedshave been protected by TFCA agreements. The TFCA is a valuable tool for ensuring critical conservationmeasures in biodiverse regions worldwide while simultaneouslyreducing the foreign debt burden of developing nations. AmbassadorPortman served as Associate Counsel to the Presidentfrom 1989 to 1991 and later as Director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. Elected to Congressin 7993,Ambassador Portman served in the House of Representativesfor 12 years.He served as Chairman of the House Republican Leadership,as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and its Subcommitteeon Trade, and as Vice Chairman of the House Budget Committee. In 2005, AmbassadorPortman was appointed United StatesTrade Representative,and in2006 he was nominated and confirmed as Director of the Office of Manasement and Budset.

Mr. Ford is internationallyrecognized as an Academy Award-nominatedactor whose work includesmore than 35 featurefilms. In 1999 he receivedthe Life AchievementAward from the American Film Institute, and in 2003 he was recognizedwith a star in front of the Theaterin Hollywood. In addition, Mr. Ford is becomingjust as well known for his extensivework on behalf of conservation.He has servedon the board of ConservationInternational for more than ten years,currently serving as vice chair of the board and a member of the ConservationInternational Executive Committee. The ICCF Conservation Leadership in BusinessAward honorsleaders who usebusiness to inspire solutionsto environmentalcrises. The ICCF is pleasedto recognizeMr. Yvon Chouinard, founderof outdoor-clothing manufacturer Patagonia,as a leader who exemplifies a pro-businesscommitment to international conservation.Mr. Chouinard is an avid sportsmanand environmentalistknown for his contributions to climbing and the outdoor gear business.His 1978 book Climbing lce launchedthe modern sport of ice climbing. He is most known for creating the Patagoniacompany, which is famous for its bold innovations in materials and design and for being an outstandingplace to work as well as a resourcefor environmental activism. Mr. Chouinard committed Patagoniato using core fabrics with the least environmental impact, such as organically grown cotton and recycled polyester,and in 1998 Patagoniabecame the first company in California to acquire all of its electricity from renewableenergy sources.In 1989, Patagoniaco-founded The Conservation Alliance, a network of companiesthat donaterevenues to environmental causes.Patagonia now donatesone percent of sales or ten percent of net profits, whichever is greater,to environmental organizations.In 1993, Mr. Chouinard announcedthe PatagoniaEmployee Internship Program, through which staffmay be paid by Patagoniafor two months while working for the environmental group of their choice. Dr. Michael Fay (Chairman) Dr. Fay is a conservationistwith the Scienceand Exploration Program at the Wildlife ConservationSociety and a ConservationFellow at the National GeographicSociety. On February15,2006, the InternationalConservation Caucus Foundation (ICCF) was incorporatedwith the missionof establishinga new vision for the soundmanagement of naturalresources globally, one that incorporatesgood stewardshipof naturalresources into all aspectsof U.S.foreign policy andU.S. assistance policy. The inspirationfor the ICCF camefrom the InternationalConservation Partnership (ICP), a collaborativeeffort of four leadingU.S.-based conservation non-governmental organizations (NGOs)(Conservation International, The NatureConservancy, Wildlife Conservation Society,and World Wildlife Fund) dedicatedto raising awa.renessabout opportunities for United Statesleadership on behalf of worldwide conservationefforts.

The International League of Conserttation Photographers (ILCP) was launched as a plaform to empower conseryation-minded photographers to use their talents to help create a culture of appreciation, understanding, and stewardshipfor the natural world. The International Conservation Caucus Foundation would like to thank Cristina Mittermeier ILCP Founder, and the ILCP photographers who have donatedphotographs to be presented at the ICCF Inaugural Gala.

Gary Braasch, a Nikon Legend,has been a professionalwriter and photographersince 1975. His work has been published in more than 150 publications, including LIFE, Smithsonian, Audubon, Discover, Time,Scientific American, andNatural History magazines.He has a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. His exhibit titled World View of Global Warming, an exhibit of prints on climate change, has recently been displayed at the American Association for the Advancementof Sciencein Washington,DC and at Chicago'sField Museum.

Connie Bransilver is an internationally known nature photographer,artist, author, and speaker.She has been published widely in books and magazines,and her fine-art prints hang in institutions and private collections worldwide. She serveson the Board of Directors of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) Infinity Foundationand was Presidentof NANPA. She servedas Vice-Chair of the Images for Conservation Fund, Fellow in the Explorers Club, and Founding Chairperson of the Duke University Primate Center Board of Visitors and is active in the Jane Goodall Institute. She has been honoredwith a numberof prestigiousawards, including Woman ofAchievement by theAmerican Association of University Women,First PhotographicArtist on the Artists' StudioTour by FriendsofArt at the NaplesArt Museum at The Philharmonic, African Wildlife Foundation Photographer of the Year, Explorers Club MagazineGrand Prize Photographawardee, and U.N. Conferenceon Women Grand Prize Winner.

Robert Glenn Ketchum has worked for 38 years as a writer and photographerand has been recognizedby Audubor?as one of the 100 people "who shapedthe environmentalmovement of the 20th Century." A fellow of the ILCP, he has received the United Nations Outstanding Environmental Achievement Award, the Ansel Adams Award for Conservation Photography, the Josephine and Frank Duveneck Humanitarian Award, and the Robert O. Easton Award for Environmental Stewardship.He has also been listed by American Photo as one of the 100 most important people in photography and was named Outstanding Photographer of the Year for 2001 by the North American Nature PhotographyAssociation and Outstanding Person of the Year by Photo Media magazine.He is a Lifetime Trustee of the Alaska Conservation Foundation and served for 15 years as Curator of Photography for the National Park Foundation.His work is representedin most of the major museumcollections in the United States.

Tom Mangelesen is one of the world's premier nature photographers.He has a background in wildlife biology and works in both cinematographyand still photography.In 2005 he was named one of the 100 most important people in photography by American Photo and was awarded Nikon's Legend Behind the Lens recognition. He has received an Honorary Fellowship from The Royal PhotographicSociety and the BBC Wildlife Photographerof the Year Award and has been named North American Nature Photography Association's Outstanding Nature Photographerof the Year. His work has been published in Audubon, National Geographic,Life, American Photo, and many others. Cristina Mittermeier is the director of the International League of Conservation Photographers.A marine biologist, biodiversity conservation consultant, and noted photographer,she has co-authoredeight books, and her photographshave been featured in National Geographic,National Geographic Explorer, Natureb Best Magazine, andmany other publications. She serveson the advisory board ofNature's Best Foundation,the WILD Foundation,and the Chairman's Council of Conservation International and co-chairs the International Committee of the North American Nature PhotographyAssociation.

Michael *Nick' Nichols is a former member of Magnum Photos, staff photographerat National Geographic, and founding member of the ILCP. He is the author of sevenbooks including Brutal Kinship with Jane Goodall. Nichols spent two years documenting Mike Fay's Megatransect,in which their team crossed2,000 miles of the Congo forest on foot. Nichols is a four-time winner of the World PressPhoto Competition.This fall Nichols will releasea two-book boxed set documenting his l2-year partnership with Fay; all net proceedswill go to African forest conservation.

Kevin Schafer has worked for more than 20 years all over the world, documenting wildlife and wild places. His work has appearedin the most important nature and sciencemagazines worldwide, including Smithsonian, Natural History, National Geographic, and BBC Wldlife. Schafer is a founding fellow of the ILCP and the author of severalbooks, including PenguinPlanet, which receivedthe 2000 National Outdoor BookAward. He spent two years documenting threatenedeco-regions around the world for the World Wildlife Fund and has worked closely with conservation NGOs on three continents. Before becoming a full+ime wildlife photographer,Schafer worked as a seabirdbiologist and naturalist. He is the first professionalphotographer to have photographedall seventeenspecies ofliving penguins.

Roy Toft is a widely published photographer with a background in wildlife and conservation biology who chooses to focus solely on wild images that convey a sense of the animal's characterand spirit. His work has been featuredin National Geographic,Smithsonian, Audubon, Wildlife Conservation,Discover, and Birderb World, and he is a founding fellow of the ILCP. Toft regularly teachesphotography classes and leadstour groups and workshopsin the field. Toft donates a portion of the revenue from fine art print sales at his California photo gallery to support conservationproj ects.

Art Wolfe has worked on every continent over the course of his 30-year career.He has taken an estimated one million images and released more than sixty books, earning numerous prestigious awards, including the Alfred Eisenstaedt Magazine Photography Award, North American Nature Photography Association Outstanding Nature Photographerof the Year,and the National Audubon Society'sRachel CarsonAward. He is a member of Canon's elite list of renowned photographsls "Fxplorers of Light" and Fujifilm's Talent Team. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and serves on the advisory boards for the Wildlife Conservation Society, Nature's Best Foundation,Bridges to Understanding, and North American Nature PhotographyAssociation.

Michele Westmorland specializesin capturing travel and cultural images from around the world and is known for her underwaterphotography. Her work has been published in many recognized publications such as National GeographicTraveler and Outside.
