2018-01-29 13:00 CET Jack White confirmed for Tinderbox The pioneering rock ‘n’ roll virtuoso will play his first Danish show in four years in Odense Last week gave us new music for Magicbox and the main stages alongside a string of acts for the new tent stage at Tinderbox. But even so, there is still room on the poster for a new headliner, and that space is now filled by a guitarist, who has both revolutionized garage rock and created a bassline that is such a classic that it can be heard every week at football stadiums, sports arenas, and everywhere else, where thousands of people have gathered. He will be headlining a large number of the major European festivals, and we are very proud that Jack White has agreed to also be a headliner in Odense this year. • -Over the years, there has been great demand for rock acts at Tinderbox and with the addition of Jack White, we feel certain that we have fulfilled the request of the audience. He is an amazing guitarist with an impressive catalog of hard-hitting classics, which is sure to knock people’s socks off, says festival director, Brian Nielsen. Jack White started his career in the groundbreaking duo The White Stripes, which in 2001 crashed into the consciousness of rock fans everywhere with "Fell in Love with a Girl", a short and powerful burst of a song on the otherwise versatile album "White Blood Cells". Jack and his partner, Meg White, released six albums as The White Stripes before they broke up the band in 2011. By that time, Jack White had already released records with The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather as well as produced records for a large number of others including country legends Loretta Lynn and Wanda Jackson. But since then, the majority of the productive musicians' attention has been directed towards a solo career launched with the excellent album "Blunderbuss". Since then, we have got the album "Lazaretto", and this March, Jack White will release the album "Boarding House Reach". So thankfully, there is a brand new music coming soon from the amazing songwriter. Concerts with Jack White are an amazing show of musicality and a journey through an exceptional catalog of songs like "Steady As She Goes", "Hotel Yorba", "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground", "Love Interruption", "Lazaretto", and "Seven Nation Army". Jack White last visited Denmark in 2014, so it's high time that the incredibly talented guitarist and songwriter will return to paint Tinderbox red, white, and black. THE VISION ABLAZE Premiere New Video “Absent” Danish progressive metal quartet The Vision Ablaze have premiered a new video single for the song “Absent,” which opens their most recent album Youtopia. See it below. The album was released in September last year via Mighty Music, and was produced by Jacob Hansen (Aborted, Mercenary, Volbeat, Pretty Maids). About the story behind the track and how it complements the rest of the material on Youtopia, the band commented: “‘Absent’ is the ﬁrst song on our album and it embodies many of the themes on the album; seeking truth, shattering illusions, questioning authorities and waking up. ‘Absent’ is the story of someone who must transcend the human illusion and save himself and humanity from the restraint of lies and deceit.” For the rest of the year The Vision Ablaze has planned tours in Demark, Sweden and Germany. Talking more about their plans, they said: “We've recently switched to wireless in-ears and it's the ﬁrst step in making a smother live show. It enables us to control many important variables in our setup. We're also planning a video for 'Monster' too - which will be the 6th video for the album.” Youtopia won “Best Production” at the High Voltage Rock Awards 2016 in Copenhagen. It's the most prestigious award show for rock and metal in Denmark. The award cited producer Jacob Hansen's outstanding work — making a dynamic album that's both really crushing and very soft and clean at the same time. The award was given by renowned producer Flemming Rasmussen and he praised the album for the pristine production.
