Five cities (“Applicant Cities”) applied to become Candidate Cities to host these Games and submitted their Application Files to the IOC by the deadline of 14 March 2014. In the order of drawing of lots carried out by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board on 10 December 2013, these cities were: Krakow (POL) Oslo (NOR) Almaty (KAZ) Lviv (UKR) Beijing (CHN) At the time of presenting this Report to the IOC Executive Board, three Applicant Cities remain in contention to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games: Oslo, Almaty and Beijing.
