TREVENNA DIRECTIONS Located within rural Cornwall on the Southern slopes of Bodmin Moor Trevenna is easily accessible, less than 3 miles from the A38, 4 miles from the A30 and 10 minutes from Bodmin Parkway Rail Station. SAT NAV WARNING: Trevenna’s postcode is PL14 6NR. However, keep an eye on these directions as Sat Nav may direct you into a neighbouring field. The direct route is unlikely to be the fastest. Recommended route by car is from the A30 If you are travelling down from North of Exeter, the A30 route avoids Plymouth and is quicker than the A38 route. In either direction on the A30, turn off at the Colliford Lake junction. Off the A30 from Exeter direction From the M5 & A30 junction at Exeter, Trevenna is approximately 50 minutes drive along the A30. Look out for the brown signs for Jamaica Inn about 10 miles before Bodmin. Stay on the A30 and travel past the Jamaica Inn junction for another 2 miles. Look out for the Colliford Lake turning, and turn left off the A30. Take care as this junction has a short slip road. Follow this road past Colliford Lake on your left, and over 6 Cattle Grids. Trevenna is the 2nd left after the 6th Cattle Grid. Look out for our small signs. These are not illuminated. Off the A30 from Bodmin direction Look out for the Colliford Lake junction about 10 miles from Bodmin. Turn right across the A30. Take care when crossing the A30 dual carriage way and turning into the Colliford Lake junction as other road users may be coming along the slip road. Follow this road past Colliford Lake on your left, and over 6 Cattle Grids. Trevenna is the 2nd left after the 6th Cattle Grid. Look out for our small signs (see image on the next page). These are not illuminated. From the A38 There are a number of roads leading to the village of St. Neot which are sign posted off the A38, about half way between Liskeard & Bodmin. Follow any of these signs and drive into the centre of the village towards the Church and London Inn pub. Trevenna is approx. 1.5 miles from the pub. With the pub on your right hand side, head down through the village, past the shop, over the bridge and continue up the hill. a) At the top of the hill go over a Cattle Grid and immediately take the right fork. b) At the next cross roads take the right hand road and drive over the Cattle Grid. c) After about 400 metres, there is a sharp left hand bend (known as Banana Corner). Turn right here at the Trevenna signs. (see image on the next page). Take care when turning into Trevenna off this road. Public Participation Chris Woolf explained that vehicles often get stuck on the road from Ashford Mill to West Killatown. He said that the road is rough but navigable at the beginning but becomes slippery in the wooded section when the leaves fall on the road and further along the slope becomes a 1 in 5 gradient and the road narrows to such an extent that branches touch either side of a vehicle. He said that, at this point, vehicles are unable to reverse and become stuck. He explained that it would be a good idea to erect a sign at the beginning of the road explaining that it is unsuitable for light or heavy goods vehicles. Chris Wolf said that he was prepared to pay for the sign. Councillors asked if the neighbours have been consulted. Chris Woolf said he had not consulted the neighbours but was happy to do so. The Chair asked if Chris Woolf was confident that the alternative route via Polventon was more easily navigable. He said that it is. Councilllor G Rogers asked who the land belongs to on which it is proposed to erect the sign.

Referrals rose from 1,784 in 2017 to 2,230 last year, in- cluding over 800 children, with more than 24 tonnes of donated food being distributed to local people in crisis across Liskeard, Looe, Torpoint and the villages and hamlets from Polruan to Cawsand, Downderry to Colliford Lake. To receive a report on any matters arising from the previous meeting The Chair said that she had attended the Court hearing on Monday October 3rd regarding the enforcement case at Colliford Lake. She said that Cornwall Councillor Eddy will report on this further. She explained that she had received an email from St Neot Art Group saying that they had removed all their equipment from the Pavilion and that any equipment that remains in the building does not belong to them. She said that the Clerk contacted Cormac regarding the parking of vehicles on the highway at Golitha Falls. Cormac have responded saying that they do not think this is a problem so Cornwall Councillor M Eddy will be following this matter up with photographic evidence showing the extent of the parking on the highway during busy periods.

Published December 1994 Foreword The Seaton, Looe and Fowey is the first group of catchments for which the NRA’s Cornwall Area is preparing a Catchment Management Plan (CMP). The preparation of this plan is part of a national programme to prepare CMP’s for all catchments in England and Wales over the next 5 years. An important part of the Catchment Management Plan process is public consultation which is designed to allow those who live in, or use, the catchment to have an input into the development of NRA plans and work programmes. The Consultation Report includes relevant information about the catchment and lists the issues identified by the NRA which need to be addressed. Following the public consultation period the NRA will produce a Final Plan which will set out targets for action by the NRA and others over the coming years. We intend to set up Steering Groups comprising representatives of organisations and interests in the catchment to monitor progress. The Seaton, Looe and Fowey catchments are essentially high quality environments and the NRA’s vision is one of maintaining and reinforcing current high standards and ensuring that the character of the water related environments is maintained.

9 Shallow Water, Brockabarrow Common and Sprey Moor 9.1 Situation Shallow Water Common is situated to the north of and adjoins Brockabarrow Common, which is seven miles north-east of Bodmin on the north side of the A.30 Bodmin to Launceston road. Adjoining Brockabarrow Common to the east is Sprey Moor, bounded by a stream that runs between them. These three areas of common are the remotest and highest of the Blisland Commons, situated in the north eastern corner of Blisland parish. Originally, Brockabarrow Common was part of Shallow Water Common, but was divided off in the nineteenth century. Today Brockabarrow Common remains the largest area of Common Land within Blisland Commons at 574 acres and is registered as Common Land no. 165. Shallow Water Common is registered as Common Land no. 187 and consists of 440 acres, while Sprey Moor is Common Land no. 166 and is 256 acres. Sprey Moor was formerly a detached part of Cardinham, even though the land was within St Neot parish; today it is recorded on modern maps as part of Blisland parish, however, boundary stones suggest it is actually within the modern parish of Boventor. 9.2 Landscape/topography The western boundary of Shallow Water Common consists of a marshy valley where the Warleggan River (River Bedalder) rises and separates Shallow Water Common from Hawkstor Downs. The northern boundary meets Scribble Downs where it is divided by a hedge and fencing. The eastern boundary follows the line of a stream dividing it from Butterstor Downs (alias Bottreaux Tor) and the stream to the west of the forest at Priddacombe.
