There is a strong movement in favour of more contemplative prayer. So, the two groups seek for common ground while acknowledging that their theologies and ways of looking at morality are poles apart.

Kevin Toomey is of the opinion that true acculturation is the fruit of a process of prayer. Prayer forms develop over centuries, and customs of prayer will often tend to converge.
