    Cathedral Counseling Center 2007 Annual Report Key Accomplishments • Cathedral Counseling Center moved its main downtown office in early March into a larger space in the Garland building at 50 E. Washington. The space is more accessible for clients, staff, and volunteers and will enable us to care for up to 500 more people each year. • Despite the disruption in service due to the move, we provided 13,875 therapy sessions, about the same number as in 2006. In addition, the client fee stayed at the 2006 level of $44 per session. • As part of our quality tracking processes, we performed a Client Satisfaction Survey. Results were consistent with previous surveys and showed 80% of clients are Extremely Satisfied and 14% are Very Satisfied with the services they receive. 100% would recommend Cathedral Counseling Center to a friend or family member. Mary Bea Sullivan Jesus’ earliest followers gathered in homes to proclaim the good news of his salvation, share stories of his life, break bread, and bolster one another in the faith. We find examples of house church gatherings in Acts 12 and 16, Romans 16, Colossians 4, and the book of Philemon. These first followers of The Way met in homes because it could be dangerous for them to openly proclaim their faith, and they were not recognized as a state-sanctioned religion therefore unable to own property.[1] We might conjure notions of meals in middle class homes such as we know, but that was not the case. There was no middle class. Most people lived in small, cramped, multi-story apartments.[2] In one instance, we learn of Eutychus falling asleep and out the window, while Paul preached well into the night (Acts 19:9). This probably happened in one of those tiny apartments. What was it like in those early house churches? There must have been some element of fear and excitement. Disagreements were plenty. We know the Word of God spread from house to house—fueled by the flames of Pentecost and the love and grace of Jesus Christ. We owe a great debt to those early worshippers, because they paved the way for us today.

Some channels have both east and west feeds, airing the same programming with a three-hour delay on the latter feed, creating a backup for those who missed their shows. The three-hour delay also represents the time zone difference between Eastern (UTC -5/-4) and Pacific (UTC -8/-7). All channels are the East Coast feed if not specified. High definition Most high-definition (HDTV) and foreign-language channels may require a certain satellite dish or set-top box. Additionally, the same channel number is listed for both the standard-definition (SD) channel and the high-definition (HD) channel, such as 202 for both CNN and CNN HD. DirecTV HD receivers can tune to each channel separately. This is required since programming may be different on the SD and HD versions of the channels; while at times the programming may be simulcast with the same programming on both SD and HD channels. Part time regional sports networks and out of market sports packages will be listed as ###-1. Older MPEG-2 HD receivers will no longer receive the HD programming. Special channels In addition to the channels listed below, DirecTV occasionally uses temporary channels for various purposes, such as emergency updates (e.g. Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike information in September 2008, and Hurricane Irene in August 2011), and news of legislation that could affect subscribers. The News Mix channels (102 and 352) have special versions during special events such as the 2008 United States Presidential Election night coverage and during the Inauguration of Barack Obama.

When our church building was under construction, Daniel Dulaney Addison, our first rector, visited Hereford, England, where he was given a stone from the original Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Ethelbert, built in the 11th century. It was placed in the outer wall of the Resting Chapel, where it remains. It’s a remarkable and tangible reminder of the incredible long story we are a part of: the story of God’s never-failing love. A story that continues to be lived out across the globe. As I live and work in this community, I am constantly humbled and amazed by the works of faith undertaken by this community, both now and in the past. I am heartened by the rock-solid faith of women and men throughout time who live mostly ordinary lives of joy and tragedy, of faith and struggle; who, in all kinds of circumstances, gather together to break bread, share the cup, and move forward in hope. As we pause this year to look back with gratitude at our first 125 years, and imagine with hope what our next 125 might be, I give thanks for all that has brought us safely thus far, and for you who are even now writing the next chapter of the story. May we be found to be as durable, and as faithful as our Hereford stone. In a January interview for Italy's TG5 news program, Pope Francis said "I believe that morally everyone must take the vaccine. It is the moral choice because it is about your life but also the lives of others." Wegmans pharmacy operations manager, Brian Pompo shared “We are proud to have the opportunity to serve the community in this way and to provide another option for our customers to get vaccinated.” Wegmans will continue offering vaccine appointments at its pharmacies throughout the Syracuse region and plans to offer additional clinics.

    2019 Cultural Calendar January January is National Mentoring Month. Launched in 2002 by MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership (MENTOR) and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, National Mentoring Month focuses national attention on the need for mentors, as well as how each of us can work together to increase the number of mentors to help ensure positive outcomes for our young people. This campaign celebrates mentoring and the positive effect it can have on young lives. January 1: New Year, the first day of the year according to the modern Gregorian calendar, celebrated within most Western countries. January 1: Feast Day of St. Basil, a holiday observed by the Eastern Orthodox Church, commemorating the death of Saint. Basil the Great. January 1: Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus, which is celebrated in the Roman Catholic Church, commemorates the naming of the child Jesus. January 2-4: Mahayana New Year, a holiday celebrated by the Mahayana Buddhist branch, on the first full-moon day in January. January 5: Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birthday, the Tenth Guru of the Sikhs who initiated the Sikhs as the Khalsa (the pure ones) and is known as the Father of the Khalsa. January 5: Twelfth Night, a festival celebrated by some branches of Christianity that marks the coming of the Epiphany.
