Siriwardana (72), better known as ‘Volleyball Sira’ from Gampaha. He passed away on May 15. Siriwardana came into the limelight when he was adjudged the Best ttoo eemmppaahhttiicc wwiinn Attacker at the Alijinna Cup Asian Volleyball Championship held in Pakistan in 1959. Sira captained the National volleyball team from 1959- 1970. Further, he captained the National volleyball team at the 14th Asian Games.
