Bernard Marchant Grijpt De Macht Bij De Tijd (En VUB-Rector Caroline Pauwels Wordt Bestuurder) De Rijkste Belgen Ranking van de Rijkste Belgen https://derijkstebelgen.be NIEUW + UPDATE - Bernard Marchant grijpt de macht bij De Tijd (en VUB-rector Caroline Pauwels wordt bestuurder) Date : 12 april 2018 Bernard Marchant, de CEO van de Franstalige mediagroep Rossel, wordt de nieuwe CEO van de groep Mediafin. Die laatste overkoepelt de economische kranten De Tijd en L’Echo. Mediafin was het ultieme losgeld dat Christian Van Thillo betaalde aan de familie De Nolf om hun belang in de commerciële TV-groep VTM over te nemen. Van Thillo droeg in die overeenkomst 50 % van Mediafin over aan Roularta, het mediabedrijf van de familie De Nolf. De andere 50 % van Mediafin was en is in handen van de Franstalige mediagroep Rossel, bekend van de krant Le Soir. Blijkt nu dat Rossel CEO Bernard Marchant er is in geslaagd met de transactie Van Thillo-De Nolf de macht bij Mediafin te grijpen en CEO van de groep te worden. VUB-rector Caroline Pauwels is benoemd tot onafhankelijke bestuurder van Mediafin. Roularta en Rossel zijn in dit kleine land geen onbekenden voor elkaar, maar beide groepen hebben ook operationele banden. Zo zijn ze samen eigenaar van Immovlan, de vastgoedzoekertjes website die de markteider Immoweb uitdaagt. Blijkbaar heeft Marchant het CEO-mandaat van Mediafin opgeëist vooraleer akkoord te gaan met de aandeelhouderswissel. Algemeen wordt aangenomen dat Roularta zal streven naar een optimalisering van zijn economische redacties bij de kranten de Tijd en L’Echo, de tijdschriften Trends/Tendances en de tv-zenders Kanaal Z/Canal Z. Die laatste vier behoren tot de Roularta-groep. De benoeming van Marchant kan dan ook enigszins verrassend overkomen. Tot aan de verkoop van Mediafin was het operationeel beleid in handen van de Persgroep van Van Thillo. Nog met de aandelenwissel heeft Eric Dejonghe ontslag genomen als onafhankelijk bestuurder van Mediafin. Dejonghe was in een vorig leven CEO van Barco en is een specialist in digitale media en applicaties. Hij wordt als onafhankelijk bestuurder door Roularta vervangen door Caroline Pauwels, rector van de VUB en mediaspecialiste. UPDATE Mediafin verduidelijkt dat in de nieuwe raad van bestuur Dirk Velghe voorzitter is en Bernard Marchant gedelegeerd bestuurder.     Nieuwsmonitor 23 Nieuwsbrief Steunpunt Media September 2015 Meer van hetzelfde? Een longitudinaal onderzoek naar de gelijkenis van het nieuws in de Vlaamse kranten (1983-2013) De Vlaamse krantenmarkt en –inhoud is in de laatste vier decennia sterk veranderd. De kranten uit 1983 brachten relatief vaak dezelfde nieuwsverhalen. Van alle onderzochte jaren (1983-1993-2003-2013) is de overlap in nieuwsverhalen tussen de kranten het grootst in 1983. Sindsdien brengen kranten steeds minder nieuws dan vroeger, zowel in aantal nieuwsverhalen als in aantal artikels. In 1993 en 2003 waren er minder gelijkenissen tussen de kranten, ze hadden meer een eigen nieuwsprofiel. Maar in 2013 brengen kranten weer meer dezelfde nieuwsverhalen dan in 1993 en 2003. Twee factoren bepalen mee in welke mate de kranten inhoudelijk op elkaar lijken: het profiel van de krant (elite versus populair) en de eigendomsstructuur. Kranten die behoren tot dezelfde groep gelijken meer op elkaar dan kranten die tot verschillende mediagroepen behoren. Steunpunt Media in samenwerking met GOA-project UAntwerpen Het Steunpunt Media is een aanspreekpunt en expertisecentrum voor alles wat met nieuws en media te maken heeft. In opdracht van de Vlaamse minister van Media voert het Steunpunt wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar nieuwsberichtgeving en mediawijsheid in Vlaanderen. Het Steunpunt Media maakt deel uit van de steunpunten voor Beleidsrelevant Onderzoek van de Vlaamse overheid (2012-2015). De vier Vlaamse universiteiten die onderzoek doen naar nieuws en massamedia zijn partner van het Steunpunt: de KU Leuven, de Universiteit Antwerpen, de Universiteit Gent en de Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
