Motor Vehicle crime: Opportunity for Vehicles Security Systems In the last 8 years, vehicles owners in the country have seen a sustained evolution in the robbery of cars. Motor Vehicle theft is a daily crime that is watched on the news or read on the newspapers. However, even it seems to be another person’s matter, it is a reality that is worrying both the Chilean authorities as well as vehicles users in the country. At the same time, Vitacura (a commune/district of Santiago ‘capital) is nowadays inviting all its residences to register themselves, to allow the Municipality to install a GPS Tracking system with an anti-carjacking in all cars with a cost of US$4.- monthly approx. per vehicle.
