Berne, 11 May 2015 International Bureau Circular Malawi – Illegal Berne, 11 May 2015 International Bureau Circular 66 Malawi – Illegal issues of postage stamps Dear Sir/Madam, The designated operator of MALAWI, Malawi Posts Corporation, asks me to inform the designated operators of UPU member countries of the following: "Malawi Posts Corporation has recently noted some illegal issues of postage stamps which have been in circulation and are currently on sale in Europe, Spain and Asia. "Malawi Posts Corporation denounces and condemns these practices since such illegal issues harm its reputation and philatelic services in particular. Furthermore, such issues are a flagrant violation of its national legislation on the production of postage stamps, article 8 of the Universal Postal Convention, and recommenda- tion C 26/2004 of the Bucharest Congress. "In this connection, it is counting on the initiatives taken by the Universal Postal Union and its bodies with a view to eradicating this phenomenon. It earnestly hopes for the cooperation of all operators to identify the culprit(s) and have them prose- cuted." Please see Annex 1 for a list of the illegal issues. Children's advocates are concerned that any changes to these rules could negatively affect the already limited amount and types of programming available for children. Children Now conducted the first study to examine the availability and diversity of children programming in an increasingly consolidated media marketplace. Los Angeles was selected as a case study for this research because it is the second largest media market in the country, and two duopolies now exist among its television stations. The study compared the children's programming schedules from 1998, when the market's seven major commercial broadcast television stations were owned by seven different companies, to 2003, after consolidation reduced the number to five. The findings suggest that changes to the current ownership policies will have a serious impact on the availability and diversity of children's programming.

The short featured Goofy fishing with the help of Wilbur, his pet grasshopper. Originally known as Dippy Dawg, the character is more commonly known simply as "Goofy," a name used in his short film series. In his 1950s persona, Goofy was called George Geef, or G. G. Geef, implying that "Goofy" was merely a nickname.     Response to this article about the Hasbro/Discovery Hub shift in power...which turned into another my long-winded, thoughtful rants: http://online.wsj.com/articles/discovery-to-take-control-of-the-hub-network- 1410979842 Well, that's...somewhat shocking. From what I can tell, the Hasbro/Discovery partnership in The Hub has been an amazing success. I watch the channel almost every day. Most of its programming is--and has been, for the past 3.5 years--excellent. From the original series (FiM, Pound Puppies, Strawberry Shortcake, LPS, Dan Vs., Aquabats Super Show, Family Game Night, Care Bears, Transformers, Haunting Hour), to all the other wonderful shows/sitcoms (oh my goodness!! Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Goosebumps, Laverne & Shirley, Happy Days, Mork & Mindy, Step By Step, Who's the Boss, Family Ties, The Facts of Life, Sister, Sister, Sabrina, Atomic Betty, etc.), to the extremely well-chosen family movies (I loved it when they aired the Homeward Bound films, All Dogs Go to Heaven 2...today I saw Spaceballs...and they've just made so many other great movie picks every season.) They've been an outstanding example of listening to your viewers and giving them what they want. Even their misfires and middle-of-the-road shows are more than bearable (SheZow, animated Sabrina, Teenage Fairytale Dropouts, Kid President, Parents Just Don't Understand, and such.) If Hasbro were to grow dissatisfied with controlling six hours of its toy-based cartoons daily on Hub (which seems like a fair deal they've cut, tbh), and moved them over to Cartoon Network or Disney...well, at least the shows would still continue on, and be a MASSIVE boon to either of those channels.
