ACCREDITATION
AQUINAS AMERICAN SCHOOL is a Catholic, college-preparatory, co-ed school, from K1 to G12 that offers the US High School Diploma as well as The IB Diploma Program©, preparing students to further their education either in Spain or abroad. AAS has run online classes during the March-June 2020 (lockdown) period. We will continue with a hybrid of online/in-person schedule according to regulations marked by local authorities.
ENROLLMENT: Aquinas is a learning community comprised of students and teachers from a variety of backgrounds, international heritages and geographic areas. A total of 695 students holding over SAT TEST CENTER* 41 nationalities compose the student body. There are 297 students in High School and 83 will be graduating students in the class of 2021.
LOCATION: Located in a gated community in the suburbs of Madrid. The school has 2 campuses, one for the Pre-School, Lower & Middle School and another one for the High School. The buildings are surrounded by 20,000 sq. m. of green areas. There are state-of-the-art lab room facilities, art studio and all classrooms have flat TV screens.
FACULTY: The High School faculty has over 24 teaching professionals who hold advanced degrees from colleges and universities from the United States, as well as from several European countries. The average faculty to student ratio is 1:12 and class sizes range from 8 to 23.
*AAS is an SAT Test Center, we have been unable to offer the exams during Spring & Fall 2020.

The minimum High School Program of study leading to graduation includes 28 credits (Grades 9, 10, 11 & 12). In addition to all academic requirements, all students are required to perform a minimum of 25 hours per year of Community Service.
