Es sollte ein geeigneter Titel gefunden werden, Hintergründe über den Interpreten präsentiert werden, sowie die Aufnahme im Bezug auf Aufbau, Harmonie, Melodie, Instrumentierung, Mischung und Mastering analysiert und präsentiert werden. Ebenso konnten Vergleichsversionen, Coverversionen oder Neuinterpretationen vorgestellt und verglichen werden. Da das Thema „Sampling“ auch im AM-Studium immer wieder ein Thema ist, fiel die Wahl des Autors auf ein Stück, welches seit seiner Veröffentlichung im Jahre 1986 häufig als Inspiration für neue Werke diente und somit zur inoffiziellen „Blaupause“ des Contemporary R’n’B wurde. Verschiedene Elemente des Titels „Why You Treat Me So Bad“ des Interpreten „Club Nouveau“ wurden mehrfach in anderen Produktionen eingesetzt, vom Gesang (in Teilen), über die Hauptmelodie („Hookline“) bis hin zum kompletten Intro. In der vorliegenden Arbeit soll nicht nur der genannte Titel analysiert werden, sondern auch eine Einordnung hinsichtlich Genre erfolgen, ebenso wie angewandte Produktionstechniken, die die Stilistik maßgeblich geprägt haben. „Contemporary R’n’B“ und „New Jack Swing“ Mit dem Begriff „Contemporary R’n’B“, also zeitgenössischem R’n’B, wurde ein Genre bezeichnet, welches seine Ursprünge im afroamerikanischen Rhythm and Blues hat. -
