Tiruchirappalli (also called Tiruchi or Trichy) is an ancient city in 's southern state. The and Kollidam rivers flow around Island, which is known for sacred Hindu sites Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, with intricately carved (towering gateways), and Jambukeswarar - Akilandeswari Temple, dedicated to the god . Kalaingar Arivalayam Flagship pilot site

Site A: By-pass link road Length of the Road : 750 m

This road was laid a decade ago to ease the traffic congestion caused at Chathiram area due to the transportation between the city and western districts of Tamilnadu. This road is a fast growing commercial street of Tiruchirappalli which includes hotels, commercial / office buildings, retail outlets, fuel stations, cinema theatre, etc.

This road apart from serving as the entry to the city from the west, also connects with ease to places like Srirangam, Thriruvanaikaval, and to nearby towns like , , etc.This stretch starts with congested road junction where two major commercial roads Megastar Theatre (Salai road & Sastri road) intersect and ends at the Chathiram - Karur road junciton. This road has been taken up under the smart city programme and underground sewer and electrical service lines have been laid but has not been able to achieve the desired effects. Cities to update

Site B: Promenade Road & Lawsons Road (from MGR statue to Central Bus Stand Length of the Road: 2 km

The Promenade road stretch is one of the widest road inside the city limits and has many arterial roads which cater dense population and mixed use. This neighbourhood includes Government Administrative buildings, Schools, Hospitals, public parks, commercial / office complex, fuelstations, residential Mutharayar Silai buildings, etc.
