Communiqué De Presse Communiqué de presse Poitiers, le 4 mars 2021 740242 32e édition de l’Open Masculin 86 du 14 au 21 mars à Poitiers AGENCE Pascale GUITTET, Vice-Présidente du Département en charge de la Jeunesse et des Sports, Jean-Paul ORILLARD et Jean-Jacques RAKOTOHASY, Directeurs de l’Open Masculin 86, et Maxime PÉDEBOSCQ, Conseiller Communautaire et Conseiller Municipal de Poitiers délégué à la politique sportive, ont -pré senté l’édition 2021 des Internationaux Masculins de Tennis, en présence de Gabriel de SAINT-MAR- TIN, Président du Stade Poitevin Tennis, d’Odile CHAUVET, Présidente Générale du Stade Poitevin Omnisports, de Didier PERRAUD, Président du Comité Départemental de Tennis de la Vienne et de Martine APERCÉ, Vice-Présidente de la Ligue Nouvelle-Aquitaine de Tennis Du 14 au 21 mars, le Stade Poitevin Tennis Club organise la 32e édition de l’Open Masculin 86. Réso- lument tourné vers la formation des jeunes, le club a souhaité organiser un tournoi mettant en avant la jeune garde du tennis mondial. La dotation reste inchangée avec 15 000 $ distribués aux joueurs. L’Open Masculin 86 a révélé de nombreux jeunes talents qui ont fait leur preuve sur le circuit. La victoire d’Antoine Hoang en est un exemple : il est aujourd’hui 136e joueur mondial à seulement 24 ans. Il succède à des grands noms du tennis tricolore comme Nicolas Mahut, grand vainqueur de l’Open en 2003, ou encore Jo-Wilfried Tsonga qui s’était imposé en 2007. Il faut également souligner le passage d’Hugo Gaston à l’Open juste avant sa belle édition à Roland Garros. D’autres grands noms du tennis mondial sont passés par Poitiers : l’Australien Alex De Minaur en 2016 (N°1 australien, 31e mondial en 2018), le Russe Daniil Medvedev en 2015 (16e mondial/2018), Jérémy Chardy (40e joueur/2018), Philipp Kohlschreiber (34e mondial/2018) ou encore Fernando Verdasco (28e mondial/2018). Un tournoi de haut niveau... qui s’adapte ! La 32e édition du tournoi international se déroulera sur les terrains couverts et chauffés du Stade Poitevin Tennis Club. Le spectacle sportif sera assurément au rendez-vous grâce à la venue de joueurs classés parmi les 450 meilleurs joueurs du monde. Compte-tenu du contexte sanitaire, les matchs, joués à huis clos, seront retransmis en direct sur la page FaceBook du Stade Poitevin Tennis et celle du Département de la Vienne.
