´ Connect Mobile Food Pantry

The Ford Mobile Food Pantry vehicles were designed to provide much-needed support for food banks to pick up and distribute food to areas where there is not a standard food distribution point. The concept was launched in and will be expanded to a number of cities across the U.S. The demand for food in the U.S. has increased dramatically and this effort will help to distribute food which otherwise might go to waste and to areas that have no traditional food resource network.

Ford Motor Company Fund and Many women, students and elders received care during a medical outreach program, a collaborative effort of the Sanjeevi Medical Health Center, The Community Services Rotary Club of Madras South West and Ford of India volunteers. An x-ray machine, donated by Ford volunteers, is the only one functioning in the area. Through the Ford Volunteer Corps, Ford employees participated in more than 1,000 volunteer projects in 2009. Those projects were filled by more than 20,000 Ford volunteers, equaling more than 100,000 volunteer hours - the equivalent of $2 million of human resources pumped into communities. Celebrating its 15th year of support for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, During Global Week of Caring, held during September 5-12, 2009, Ford Ford illuminated its World Headquarters pink to show support for breast cancer patients and survivors. Ford’s Warriors in Pink campaign is designed to recognize volunteers in 44 countries volunteered on six continents. the strength and courage it takes to deal with the everyday challenges of fighting breast cancer 365 days a year.
