Regulation Ciné-Jeune de l’ + 15 International Short Films Competition 40th International Film Festival, from March the 22th to April the 15th of 2022

1 - Dates and places The 40th International Film Festival Ciné-Jeune de l’Aisne will take place from March the 22th to April the 15th of 2022 in , , , Tergnier, Saint-Gobain and all the Département of Aisne in .

2 – Objectives and means Since 1983, the aim of the Festival is to present a selection of high quality international feature and short films likely to be of interest to children and teenagers, contributing to a better understanding between different peoples and cultures. The Festival encourages exchanges among professionals in order to promote a broadcasting of these films. Ciné-Jeune de l’Aisne benefits from the support of the Centre National du Cinéma (National Cinema Center), the French State, the National Education Ministry and all the partner municipalities.

3 - Conditions of participation The International Film Festival Ciné-Jeune de l’Aisne organizes seven short film competitions for the 40th edition. A film is able to compete at the + 15 International Short Films Competition if :  the film is intended for teenagers aged 15 to 18 years old ;  the film was completed after January 1st, 2020 ;  the film has no dialogue, or is in French, or is subtitled in french or english ;  the maximum running time of the film is 30 minutes ;  the film is available in DCP and/or ProRes and/or H264 format. Any subject, cinematographic genre or technique is admitted, but the film must meet the five conditions listed above.

4 – Film entries To enable preview screening, please send an internet link with the film with the completed entry form before October the 1st, 2021 :  via ShortFilmDepot platform : https://www.shortfilmdepot.com/fr  or to these email addresses : [email protected] ; [email protected]

5 – Selection Films will be selected by a special committee nominated by the Festival board. The decision of selection will be communicated only if the film is selected, max mid-january of 2022. It won’t be possible to remove a film if it is already registered or retained for the competition. Reservation dates must be followed. If necessary, the festival board might take legal action.

6 - Shipment and formats If the film is selected, copies must be sent in DCP format and in digital format before January the 31th. They must be sent by post to Ciné-Jeune de l’Aisne : Ciné-Jeune de l’Aisne 18-20 rue Franklin Roosevelt 02000 Laon (FRANCE) Participants are responsible for the costs of sending the movies. Return or follow-up fees to another festival are paid by Ciné-Jeune de l’Aisne. The following material will have to be sent to the above-mentioned addresses of Ciné-Jeune de l’Aisne :  the text of either the dialogues or the subtitles (if the film is not in French or subtitled in French) ;  synopsis, pictures, director’s photo, biography and filmography ;  posters, press and communication medium.

7. Participation permission The recording of a film involves the authorization to publish the photos and texts provided in the catalog of the Ciné-Jeune de l'Aisne festival, as well as on the website and social networks of the organization. The information and photos provided by the participants when the film is registered are their responsibility.

8 – Prize and juries The competition will be screened as part of the International Film Festival Ciné-Jeune de l’Aisne. Films selected to compete at the + 15 International Short Films Competition will be judged by a school jury composed of students aged 15 to 18 (high school class of Aisne). The School Jury will award the Prize of + 15 Short Film, and will give 300 € to the winning film.

If the film receives a prize, the director, distributor or producer commits himself to send a short video (or audio recording) in response to the award (approximately 1 minute), if requested by the festival, for the production of an award ceremony video of all competitions. The director, distributor or producer commits himself to mentioning the prize received on the advertising materials.

Taking part in the + 15 International Short Films Competition of the International Film Festival Ciné-Jeune de l’Aisne implies total acceptance of these regulations. In the event of controversy, the French text only is legally binding.
