Planning Application 9/2017/0893/NU The change of use of agricultural land for use as residential caravan site for 6 gypsy families, including the erection of two amenity buildings, laying of hardstanding and access improvements on land at SK4229 2454 on Shardlow Road, Aston-on-Trent

At the meeting of the Planning Committee on 25th September 2018, the decision of whether to grant or reject the application, was deferred, pending a site visit by SDDC and also further investigation into an existing traffic survey.

We must point out that the Planner’s recommendation to the councillors was to Accept and grant the application

The next SDDC Planning Meeting to make the final decision is Tuesday 16th October starting at 6.00 p.m.

SAVE have been given just a 3 minute slot to raise any objections to this application. Although Planning have received 281 written objections, it is our opinion that we must demonstrate the depth of our feelings by having a large physical presence at this meeting – in short we need the chamber 'full to the rafters of Villagers and as many Parish Councillors as possible.

We should remind everyone, that if this is passed, it may set a PRECEDENT

That precedent will be that the 'need' to comply with the rolling 5 year Traveller Site Requirement, may nullify any landscaping objections.

That is a very dangerous situation for the Villages of Aston and Weston, so please help by coming and supporting us.

Venue : South District , Council Council Offices, Civic Way, Swadlincote, DE11 0AH - there is a large car park in front of the Council Offices. Members of the public are only allowed to observe & may not speak or ask any questions during the proceedings Please arrive by 5.45 latest to gain entry to the chamber
