Edristi-December-2018-English-Pdf Preface Dear readers, we have started edristi English edition as well since August, 2015. We are hopeful that it will help us to connect to the broader audience and amplify our personal bonding with each other. While presenting Day-to-day current affairs, we are very cautious on choosing the right topics to make sure only those get the place which are useful for competitive exams perspective, not to increase unnecessary burden on the readers by putting useless materials. Secondly, we have also provided the reference links to ensure its credibility which is our foremost priority. You can always refer the links to validate its authenticity. We will try to present the current affairs topics as quickly as possible but its authenticity is given higher priority over its turnaround time. Therefore it could happen that we publish the incident one or two days later in the website. Our plan will be to publish our monthly PDF on very first day of every month with making appropriate modifications of day-to-day events. The main objective of the partnership is to co-create innovative technological solutions. The SoI was signed by NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant and Ambassador of the Netherlands to India Marten van den Berg. India extends $1 bn credit line to Central Asian countries The second meeting of the India-Central Asia Dialogue was held virtually, under the chairmanship of the External Affairs Minister of India Dr S Jaishankar. The foreign minister of all the five Central Asian countries- Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan– participated in the meeting. During the meeting, India announced US $1 billion line of credit for “priority developmental projects” in Central Asian countries in the fields of connectivity, energy, IT, healthcare, education, agriculture and offered to provide grant assistance for implementation of High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) for furthering socio-economic development in the countries of the region. Apart from this, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan also attended the meeting as a special invitee.     Organizing of Cricket Players Karan Rao, December 2016 Overview: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a T20 cricket league held in India and is the most attended cricket league worldwide. The league ranks sixth amongst all sports leagues in the world and according to global valuation and corporate finance advisor Duff & Phelps, the value of brand IPL stands at around $4.16 billion in 2016.The IPL currently comprises of 8 franchise owned teams that more or less represent the major cities in India and has around 200 players from countries such as: India, South Africa, Australia, West Indies, New Zealand, England, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. All the players are bought by the franchises via an auction. Through this case study we will explore the strategies and the methods used by the franchises to organize their teams, the selection criteria and evaluation techniques used by teams to select their resources and how the dynamic nature of the auction influences the organizing principles used by the franchises. We will also explore how the timing of a resource entering the organizing system effects its monetary value and changes its importance. What is being organized? In the organizing system, which is the IPL, the players are the resources (active/operant resources) that are being organized. As simple and straightforward as it may sound teams spend millions of dollars on scouts, software and data analysts to perfect the art of organizing their resources. This challenge is due to the fact that the team owners, analysts and coaches are trying to extrinsically organize (define a price on) an intrinsically dynamic resource property (a player’s attributes).

Details: • On 21 October 1943, the Provisional Government of Free India was established as a government-in- exile in Singapore by Indians in exile headed by Subhash Chandra Bose. It was also called Azad Hind or Free India. • The Azad Hind government had its own court, civil code and currency. Its provisional capital was Port Blair, while its capital-in-exile was Rangoon and Singapore. • Subhash Chandra Bose was the Prime Minister. S. A. Ayer was the Minister of Broadcasting and Publicity and Lt. Col. A. C. Chatterji was the Minister of Finance. • Azad Hind was disestablished on 18 August 1945. ASW Corvette ‘Kavaratti’ Context: Indigenously built ASW Corvette ‘Kavaratti’ to be commissioned at Visakhapatnam. About INS Kavaratti: • INS Kavaratti is an indigenously built stealth corvette under Project 28 (Kamorta Class). • The Kamorta class corvettes are the first stealth corvettes to be built in India. o The other three corvettes, INS Kamorta, INS Kadmatt and INS Kiltan were commissioned in 2014, 2016 and 2017 respectively. o The corvettes are named after the islands in the Lakshadweep archipelago. o The Kamorta class corvettes are intended to succeed the Kora-class corvette by precedence and Abhay-class corvette by role. • INS Kavaratti is indigenously designed by the Indian Navy's in-house organisation, Directorate of Naval Design (DND), and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.
