I am writing today to encourage you to support and attend the 24th annual St. Joseph Blue & Gold Gala themed 40’s Swing taking place on Saturday, February 22 in the gymnasium in Jones Hall. If I do say so myself, the Blue & Gold Gala is a wonderfully fun event and it is the largest fundraiser for our school. Last year, we SOLD OUT of the available 205 tickets and the event raised over $30,000! This event has something for everyone: a gourmet dinner; a fully stocked bar; silent auctions; LIVE auctions; raffles; photo booth; loads of laughs and lots of fellowship! Although it is a GREAT party, more importantly, it supports the continual competitiveness of our school. Since 1995, our annual Blue & Gold Gala has been successful at providing funds for various educational enhancements including the computer lab, the science lab and most recently Chromebooks. So when you purchase tickets for this event not only can we guarantee you a night out for food, fellowship, & fun; but also the satisfaction of knowing you have supported every student of this school in being amply prepared for their higher education and beyond. Please consider joining us in our mission by donating auction items, being a sponsor, or attending the Blue & Gold Gala! You will find an invitation on the last page of this bulletin. Thank you in advance for your consideration and your support!

Catholic Schools Week ~ Thank You!

Wow! Last Sunday, we had an impressive turn-out to kick off Catholic Schools Week. Thank you to everyone that came to celebrate Mass in the gym due to the renovations taking place at the Church, and then joined us at our Parishioner Appreciation Pancake Breakfast and school Open House. It was a pleasure talking with so many St. Joseph parishioners and hearing the beautiful memories they shared of their time here - some were of days gone by; some were of Fr. Jared’s passion for Catholic education and his devotion to bring us all a little closer to God, and some were of their children and grandchildren that attend school here. The most interesting thing to me was the theme of love, care, compassion, and connection that all the stories shared. It is evident that being a part of our St. Joseph Parish Church and School community transcends the St. Joseph Parish Mission. I hope this tradition continues as we fast approach our 100 year anniversary.

A day like Sunday wouldn’t be possible without the assistance of so many behind the scene organizers. I’d like to thank everyone that contributed to the success of the day, but most especially a HUGE thank you to Mr. Dan Fedak and Mr. Dan Horak for coordinating the pancake breakfast. I’d be remiss in not thanking our CSW team for their hard work and time coordinating the week of events for the students, staff, and families: Miss Megan Fearon, Mrs. Nancy Martin, Mrs. Marnie Tondra, and Mrs. Rhonda Wilson. Our entire faculty and staff as well as the students and numerous adults that volunteered on Sunday are also deserving of a big thank you. I’d also like to thank our families that shared our faith by assisting with the Liturgy at every Mass over the weekend. I strongly urge you to consider where your talents might be to volunteer, whether it be for the Church or school. The joy you will get out of the experience is a far greater reward than the loss of the few hours you put into it.

It is comforting to know that we all share a common belief in that attending a Catholic school allows students to develop a personal relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ, which is a treasure that will endure far beyond their elementary school years. For this and countless other reasons, we thank all members of our parish for their support of our school ministry.

Thank you for your continued support, and as is becoming a common phrase around here, we can’t spell success without yoU!
