Teen taking Charity to new heights
My name is Will Macrokanis and I am a 17-year-old student from Whitefriars College in Donvale. I have been given the opportunity to travel to Nepal with a group of 15 school friends to be immersed in the culture and help lay foundations for a classroom in Pokhara, Nepal. I applied to go on this once in a lifetime trip to Nepal by a group called Antipodeans; they came to my school (Whitefriars College) and spoke about the trip and I was just captivated by what we are able to do with a bunch of mates from school. I applied for a community grant from Club Ringwood, explaining the project in Pokhara and how the funds from the grant will all go to helping those in a third-world country. As a group of 15, we fly to Kathmandu on the 29th of November. On arrival we, as students, have to figure out where to stay for Great Live Music the night; we have to find the transport to the accommodation themS that we choose.
