Summer 2012 232 Graduates 649 Merit-Based Scholarships $11 million 16 College Athletic Scholarships 7 Orpheum High School Musical Theatre Award Finalists 10 Academic All-Stars Annual Report 2011-2012 From the PresidentOn Eagles’ Wings DEVELOPMENT To all our SBA families and friends – Summer Greetings! We hope you and your families have been able to escape from these 100-degree days … be it in the ocean, a lake or with a sprinkler in the back yard. I was blessed to enjoy a really nice Father’s Day earlier this summer. Two of our three daughters were able to join us for the Sunday celebration for both me and my son-in-law. Brady, his son and my grandson, had the most fun of all, tearing into our gifts – or should I say into the wrapping paper. R-i-i-i-p-p-p - then on to the next. I’m guessing if he had access to just one pretty empty box a day, even the same exact package over and over, his every day would be Christmas. How great would that be! And how long has it been since any of us have woken up feeling like that? I’ve been reading John Kralik’s 2010 book, “365 Thank Yous.” I’d recommend it for everyone. After several years of sliding ever deeper into an emotional, professional and family abyss, the author was graced with one of those miraculous moments of clarity … when he came to understand that despite his troubles and misery, he’d actually been blessed with much and many for which to be thankful.
