Dr.M.S.Saleemullah, Vice Principal, Mr.JesuRathinam, Dept of Eng VISION TO INCULCATE IN THE YOUNG RURAL MINDS THE APTITUDE TO COMPETE WITH THE QUALITY TECHNOCRATS MISSION 1.TO INSTILL TECHNICAL SKILLS TO COMPETE IN THE SUSTAINABLE WORLD 2.TO IMPART HOLISTIC VALUE BASED TECHNICAL EDUCATION. 3.TO INTENSIFY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D) ACTIVITIES IN TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT. 4.TO IMBIBE CORE VALUES OF LOVE FOR MOTHERLAND, PERFORMANCE OF DUTY, COMPASSION, TOLERANCE, HONESTY AND INTEGRITY. MOTTO PERSEVERANCE, ENDURANCE, COMMITMENT. ADMINISTRATOR’S MESSAGE: Making good use of an engineering degree needs careful thought before and after making the decision. Looking at the number of engineering colleges in India and the number of engineers coming out of these colleges , the question s that form in everyone’s minds are “Does India need so many engineers ?”Are they all employable?. The negativity brought forth by such question has crippled engineering education in India. In this global era , rather than focus on India, the question should be whether the world needs so many engineers?. The answer is a big “YES”. The world needs in plenty well equipped , talented graduates with the right attitude . There are job opportunities for those who have the potential in addition opportunities for self employment are also plenty for innovative and energetic minds. As the trend goes ,most students would like to pursue professional programmes such as medicine , and engineering since fewer seats are available for medicine ,getting an MBB S seat has become extremely difficult and the majority is left with the next popular option – engineering . It is not wise to join a branch of study because it is popular or because the job opportunities are high students should take the branch of study available in reputed college and start liking that branch. Plan well and work hard. What is critical in students interest in the branch of study and the efforts put in by them to equip themselves adequately enough during their studies. PRINICPAL ’S MESSAGE: Dear Readers, Welcome to the Issue 2 | Volume 4 Mayukh ! In this trying times of rapid industrialization and economic growth and the resultant turbulence, everywhere it has become imperative to prepare social engineers who would contribute to and manage the needs of our society with equanimity of mind and an attitude of selfless social service.PEC boasts of a world class infrastructure including specialized labs and facilities in sports , ISTE Chapter. IEEE students branch ,CSI, Humanities club, Entrepreneurship development skill etc. All these promote sustained quality education and ensure that the students have an open enquiring mind and competent enough in the field. I am confident that the college with its rich legacy will continue to shape the future of the young minds of our country and transform their potentials in to successful careers resulting in national development. VICE- PRINICPAL ’S MESSAGE: Managements and teachers need to understand what their students want and adapt themselves accordingly. Industries in India feel that only about 25 percent of the engineering graduates pass out are employable. Bring the end users of products from engineering institutions, we need to value their assessment and strive to bridge the existing gap so as to make every student employable. When students get admitted this year the institution has to understand that its job is to prepare them for the market place in 2020. Institutions should gear up to meet the challenges of training students to cope with the requirement. The infrastructure and the exercise will reflect their prepared way. Digitalization in academics and administrative process will not only improve the efficiency of the institution but also help in keeping pace with the ever changing world. Digital learning management students with software packages make learning internship and effective for students . Disaster Management Teams over the years with their perfect mitigation strategies, plans and collaborative work with the locals had effectively tackled issues and situations, ensuring to bring back the normalcy with greater restoration. Natural disasters were said to be one of the main reasons for Human Trafficking. This pandemic situation of Covid-19 had brought to us a lot of uncertainties and ambiguity. Loss of jobs and the pressure to keep up the income to meet the basic needs of the family, many are now vulnerable for becoming prey for Human Trafficking. A broad topic, Human Trafficking is prevalent, and often works in shadows that none can easily identify. It is an illegal trade that fetches billions for the traffickers! Illegal trade of Human beings for the purpose of exploitation of their labour, exploitation for commercial sexual activities, organ trafficking, domestic servitude, and etc. are considered to be Human Trafficking. 1 Vulnerability had increased exponentially with the pandemic still around and posing a greater threat.
