Race 1: ROSS’S SALES AND AUCTIONS STAKES (2130 MBL) LETS PARTY TONIGHT – (Chris Lewis) which broke gait when racing keenly racing out of the front straight on the first occasion will not be permitted to race for 6 days and until such time as it completes a satisfactory trial. OUR VANESSA – (Beau Tindale) commenced to race fiercely and broke in the latter stages of the score up at the first attempt obliging the starter to call a false start. The filly was excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Checked racing into the front straight to receive the bell. Gave ground over the concluding stages. THE POWER WITHIN – (Jason Vella) raced keenly in the early and middle stages and racing towards the front straight to receive the bell broke gait. The filly will not be permitted to race for 6 days and until such time as it completes a satisfactory trial. SO PERFECT –(Mark Reed) was checked racing towards the front straight to receive the bell. DELTA BROMAC – (Joe Suvaljko) was checked racing towards the front straight to receive the bell. NOMORE FORUSIR – (Colin Brown) shifted out in the run to the finish. THE PARTY GIRL – (Gary Hall Jnr) was checked racing towards the front straight to receive the bell and failed to run on over the concluding stages. FRIDAY ON MY MIND – (Aldo Cortopassi) was checked racing towards the front straight to receive the bell. BACK IN BLACK – (Ryan Warwick) was checked racing towards the front straight to receive the bell.

Race 2: CD DODD SCRAP METAL STAKES (1730 MBL) MEGAINTEREST – (Ray Retzlaff) hung outwards in the score up being some distance out of position at release point obliging the starter to call a false start at the first attempt. The gelding was excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Shifted out under pressure in the run to the finish. FALCON SUNSET – (Morgan Woodley) failed to run on over the final 400m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in the off hind foot. Trainer Mr K Keys was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to racing or trialling. Mr Keys informed Stewards that the gelding would now be spelled. EASY ON THE POCKET – (Chris Lewis) was inconvenienced in the front straight on the final occasion SMART JAG – (Callan Suvaljko) shifted outwards under pressure in the run to the finish despite the efforts of its driver. A warning was issued.

Race 3: ROSS’S KITCHEN MAKEOVER CLAIMING STAKES (2130 MBL) FREDDY RAMA – (John Filardo) was severely checked racing out of the back straight on the first occasion. MACAR – (Phillip Duggan) raced roughly at the start and then was checked racing out of the back straight on the first occasion. Failed to run on over the concluding stages. VINTAGE TRAPPER – (Callan Suvaljko) was inconvenienced behind a tired runner racing out of the back straight on the final occasion. KNIGHTWORKMAN – (Bob Mellsop) after working in the early stages to gain the lead of the one wide line failed to run on over the concluding stages. THE LAST PADRON – (Mark Reed) was checked racing out of the back straight on the first occasion. DOCTEL RAGER – (Ryan Warwick) was inconvenienced at the start. General Stewards inquired into the reason for FREDDY RAMA (John Filardo) being severely checked and MACAR (Phillip Duggan) being checked racing out of the back straight on the first occasion. It was established that JACCKA FROST (Morgan Woodley) crossed from the three wide to the one wide line in advance of MACAR, which overreacted to being eased at that point. Under the circumstances Morgan Woodley was given the benefit of the doubt as to whether he was solely responsible for the incident, however was advised to give runners to his inside more racing room in similar circumstances.

KNIGHTWORKMAN, VINTAGE TRAPPER and MACAR were all claimed from the event.

Race 4: ROSS’S MITRE 10 GARDEN CENTRE STAKES (1730 MBL) GIFTED OPERATOR – (Daniel Voak) was unable to obtain a clear run to the finish. ANGRYLITTLEBEAVER – (Aaron Skalecki) was unable to obtain a clear run to the finish. CHARLIE ALMAHURST – (Colin Brown) was unable to obtain a clear run to the finish. IDEAL LAVROS – (Grant Williams) was unable to obtain a clear run to the finish. ONAVENTURE – (Morgan Woodley) was unable to obtain a clear run to the finish. ALBERT LONGLEGS – (Stephen Reed) hung inwards racing out of the front straight on the final occasion and when being corrected overreacted and shifted outwards. Inconvenienced approaching the winning post as runners shifted slightly on its inside.

Race 5: ROSS’S BATHROOM MAKEOVER STAKES (1730 MBL) WATERLOO BAY – (Gary Hall Jnr) hung outwards racing out of the front straight on the first occasion, racing in restricted room for a short distance. Severely checked racing into the front straight on the final occasion. THE CULT – (Kim Prentice) hung inwards momentarily racing out of the front on the first occasion. LEADING STAR – (Aldo Cortopassi) severely checked racing towards the front straight on the final occasion. SEAFIELD UNICORN – (Shannon Suvaljko) racing towards the front straight on the final occasion when racing keenly made contact with a sulky wheel and broke gait. Under the circumstances no action was taken.

General Stewards inquired into the reason for WATERLOO BAY (Gary Hall Jnr) being severely checked racing into the front straight on the final occasion. Driver Tony Hynam (BEEN IN TROUBLE) was found guilty to a charge of causing interference issued under the provisions of Rule 163(1)(a) and had his reinspersons licence suspended for 24 days. Stewards ruled the penalty would take effect following his driving engagements at Central Wheatbelt on Sunday, 13 August 2006.

Race 6: 2006 ROSS’S MITRE 10 SOLUTIONS MARATHON HANDICAP (3309 SS) SEELSTER CUT – (Mark Reed) galloped briefly at the start. COOGEE BELLE – (Kate Kersley) began badly, it was subsequently established that the near side hopple shortening pin had released prematurely. Under the circumstances no action was taken. ACE OF SPADES – (Clinton Kimes) which began badly, losing considerable ground was excluded from the standing start draw. JAKE THE MUS – (Kim Prentice) which galloped out will remain excluded from the standing start draw. HILTON ADONIS – (Ryan Warwick) galloped briefly at the start.

Race 7: DCS COMPUTER SUPPLIES STAKES (2130 MBL) Nothing to report

Race 8: ROSS’S MITRE 10 HARDWARE PACE (2102 SS) KABODA – (Colin Brown) which began badly was excluded from the standing start draw. Failed to gain a clear to the finish. ARMBRO QUICKSILVER – (Morgan Woodley) which began badly was placed on its last chance in the standing start draw. SCRAM JET – (Kim Young) race roughly shortly after the start. SPIN DOCTOR – (Mark Reed) failed to run on over the concluding stages. SMOOTH ADVANCE – (Matthew Scott) raced roughly shortly after the start and was unable to gain to clear run to the finish Gloucester Park 11/08/2006 2 FORWARD POCKET – (Brad Stampalia) after being fractious en route to the course underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Began badly and will remain excluded from the standing start draw.

Race 9: HAROLD DODD TRIBUTE PACE (2503 SS) THE ADMIRALS BYRD – (Wayne Price) locked sulky bridges with another runner entering the front straight on the final occasion and remained locked until the finish. BONSHAR – (Aldo Cortopassi) over raced for a major part of the event. PAYNIN – (Chris Lewis) had some difficulty obtaining clear running to the finish. CEE GEORGINA – (Ryan Bell) which began badly will remain excluded from the standing start draw. CASHMERE SMOOTH – (Brad Stampalia) locked sulky bridges with another runner entering the front straight on the final occasion and remained locked until the finish.

Race 10: ROSS’S MITRE 10 PAINT 2YO STAKES (1730 MBL) MISS ANVIL – (Grant Williams) failed to run on the concluding stages.
