Vern Snyder was then appointed by President Leslie Cochran to lead the office, now called the Development Office (since this name better implied fundraising). Shortly after Snyder departed in June 1999, Paul McFadden was named director of the department. McFadden himself left the Development Office in late 2011 when he was named President of the YSU Foundation. Currently Catherine Cala is the Interim Chief Development Officer. Just prior to his departure from Development, McFadden deposited the Mary B. Smith Collection and part of this collection with Archives.
