Bonnier Books Ltd, United Kingdom, 2014. Hardback. Condition: New. Language: English . Brand New Book. Legendary Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna s intensity and commitment earned him a reputation as one of the biggest names in world sport. In his brief, fiery Grand Prix career, he won 41 races and three world championships. But it was his belief, passion and raw speed that made him a global superstar - and, at times, a dramatically controversial figure. Senna felt he was the best - and his results certainly backed up his belief. But the Brazilian s rivals - most notably his McLaren team-mate, Alain Prost - were aware that his self-belief could be contentious; his utter refusal to be beaten occasionally led to colourful consequences on the track. Senna s death at the San Marino Grand Prix on 1 May 1994 stunned the world. Many books have been written since that freak accident at the wheel of a Williams 20 years ago, but none captures the warm relationship he had with McLaren, the team with which he enjoyed his greatest successes. -

Legalized for road use, but not sanitized to suit it, the new Ultimate Series deliberately compromises McLaren’s trademark breadth of supercar daily usability; instead it provides the purest connection between driver and car, to deliver the most intense circuit experience of any road McLaren. The technical recipe is classic McLaren Automotive supercar, a pedigree established and earned in the short time elapsed since the pioneering sports and supercar company was founded in 2010, but taken to another level entirely in the McLaren Senna. -

Now you are in high-level business, have you discovered that hardness that might have been lacking in the past? ItT may have looked so because I never had the most competitive car. But if you look closely at my results, most of the time I have beaten my teammates, whoever they were. So, I don't think that I lacked a ruthless streak, I just had no opportunity. Running Head: Leadership Analysis - Senna 1
Running Head: Leadership Analysis - Senna 1 Ayrton Senna’s pursuit of perfection in Leadership Kris Felstead Foundations of Leadership November 24th, 2012 Leadership Analysis: Senna 2 Senna is a film documentary about Brazilian race car driver Ayrton Senna. The film begins with an overview of his journey from Brazil to Europe and his arrival into Formula 1 in 1984. As the film follows Senna it reveals both his personal and on track challenges and triumphs, culminating in his recognition as a global superstar. It is common to hear race fans describe the drivers as heroes. The notion of what constitutes a hero from an outsider’s perspective can be quite different from the challenges a driver goes through to compete in the sport they love. Furthermore, if one examines the leadership criteria it takes to lead a team to a championship, it becomes clear the driver is doing much more than just piloting the car around a track. The relationship the driver has with his team is a delicate balancing act of focusing on the needs of the team, while balancing the need to attain specific objectives each race weekend. It was in this balancing act that Senna displayed his strongest and weakest moments of leadership and thorough this examination it becomes clear he is an authentic leader in every sense of the word. Emergence of a Leader The first footage you are presented with is Senna driving go-karts when he came from Europe in 1978 to compete in the World Championship. The voice over of Senna describes his feeling of competing at that time as “pure driving, pure racing, there wasn’t any politics to be concerned with, or money to be won, but just real racing” (Senna, 1:14). -

8 July 2021 – Viry-Châtillon Alpine F1 Team launches “Prost in the Paddock”, the first podcast series dedicated to Alain Prost Alpine F1 Team is pleased to announce the launch of its brand-new "Prost in the Paddock" podcast series on 14 July, Bastille Day, the French national holiday. In this audio series, Alain Prost, the only French Formula 1 World Champion and national hero, speaks candidly and with sincerity about his career and his role in the world of F1, the evolution of the sport's top-tier category, F1’s new rules and regulations, and offers his opinions about the new generation of drivers as never heard before. Four episodes with four themes Alpine F1 Team speaks with the celebrated four-time world champion to provide listeners with rare and never-been-heard-before anecdotes. Four episodes in English have been produced in which he shares his thoughts about career choices, rivalries, performance, a look at the evolution of the sport and the human side. The Alpine team non-executive Director does not shy away from any subject: "I wanted to become a footballer. I wasn't at all interested in motorsport. But my brother was. I remember my first kart race. We went to Cannes on his initiative, and immediately I was hooked. Whether it was my first race in Formula 1 or even my first victory at Dijon, the feeling was the same as when I started karting. In a way, it was a new beginning. Even when I became World Champion in 1985, I thought, ok, I did it, but after, I could only think of one thing, to do it again regardless of how good my car was or my position on the grid. -

History of F1 – 1990S
History of F1 – 1990s Welcome to Sidepodcast’s History of F1. So far, the development of the Formula 1 World Championships has been pretty much about the cars, with a few squabbles between drivers along the way. The 1990s saw some real star talent emerging, with personalities both loveable and not so much. The 1990s were a year of change, innovation, tragedy and triumph. Team Williams introduced the first car, designed by Patrick Head, to have a semi‐automatic gearbox and traction control, but reliability was still a major problem. Eventually, Williams managed to conquer their mechanical troubles, and added more computer‐control to the car, leading to success in the next couple of years. Williams took the championship in '92 and '93, with Nigel Mansell and then Alain Prost, who had just returned from a season off. Michael Schumacher joined the Formula 1 circuit in 1991, qualifying 7th on his debut for Team Jordan, although he didn’t get past the first lap. Just one race later, he defected to Benetton. With the major players of previous seasons now retired, Schumacher was the main rival for Ayrton Senna, but it was not going to be easy. The points system changed in 1990 so that all Formula 1 races were included in the championship and a win would gain you 10 points rather than 9 points. The FIA also declared that the driver aids, such as traction control, were having a negative impact on the impression of F1. Where was the driver skill? So, the aids were banned, despite Formula 1 getting more and more exciting.
