Wine lovers were on cloud nine in Quay West’s function room last month as the Cool Climate Wine Show hit Southbank.

Th e tasting session was run by Australia’s only female “Wine Master” Meg Brodtmann. Th e festival was sponsored and run by the Red Hill Show Society and the wine tasting was held in conjunction with the Yarra River Business Association (YRBA). Several cool climate wines were on show with many restaurant o wners from Southbank taking the opportunity to see what the best wines of the seasons were. Th e glow of candlelight fi lled the air as the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial ceremony was held during May at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA).

Th e ceremony was held to raise awareness about HIV and challenge stigmas around the disease.

On a rather dreary, cold and wet evening, 130 guests braved the elements to pay tribute, raise awareness and refl ect for people living with HIV.
