The information compiled in the following pages is meant to link individuals with information and services that serves to: • Ensure the growth and development of children from birth to age three who have or are at risk for having developmental disabilities, and to support the families of these children. • Enable children with mental illness, intellectual disability and/or substance abuse disorders to remain in familiar environments while receiving services and/or treatment when at all possible • Provide crisis intervention which is available 24 hours a day. • Promote resiliency in youth and communities through prevention and education activities. • Meet the residential, outpatient, and day support service needs for children requiring services. • Effectively treat individuals with substance abuse disorders. • Support the efforts of schools, Departments of Social Services, law enforcement agencies and courts in coordinated manner. • Assist families in caring for members with mental illness, intellectual disability, and substance abuse disorders. 2 Community Services Boards (CSBs) A community services board (CSB) is the point of entry into the publicly-funded system of services for mental health, intellectual disability, and substance abuse. CSBs provide pre-admission screening services 24-hours per day, 7 days per week.
