 Every year NSS students from Thiagarajar College render their selfless service to the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai.  The students go directly to the temple and extend their helping hand to the temple personages by counting the coins from the offering box (Hundi).  It is such a tedious job to count inestimable coins and money from the Hundi since infinite people visit the temple every day and give their offerings in the Hundi.  The NSS students‟ service in this regard is very appreciable and the management of the temple find it very supportive from our part.  The students do this work very enthusiastically every year and they learn the lesson of helping others without expecting anything in return.  The important thing to note in this service is that the students involve themselves in this pious work of helping the Hindu temple personages without any religious disparities.
