Coin Counting MeenakshiSundareshwarar 21.9.2017 20 Temple, Madurai Every year NSS students from Thiagarajar College render their selfless service to the Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai. The students go directly to the temple and extend their helping hand to the temple personages by counting the coins from the offering box (Hundi). It is such a tedious job to count inestimable coins and money from the Hundi since infinite people visit the temple every day and give their offerings in the Hundi. The NSS students‟ service in this regard is very appreciable and the management of the temple find it very supportive from our part. The students do this work very enthusiastically every year and they learn the lesson of helping others without expecting anything in return. The important thing to note in this service is that the students involve themselves in this pious work of helping the Hindu temple personages without any religious disparities.
