Based in Hong Kong, Joseph manages and operates a portfolio of $500+ million focusing on education, media, finance, property development, agricultural technology and clean technology. He currently serves on various boards. Most notably, he is the Special Advisor of Hong Kong (ABLAC) for the Asia Pacific Foundation, a Canadian think tank that directly advises PM Trudeau. Joseph is also the faculty advisor of the University of British Columbia’s Land and Food Systems department, along with being a committee board member of China’s Maritime Silk Road trade initiative. Prior to leading Fairchild Capital Management, Joseph served at Citigroup Alternative Investments in 2002 and at Morgan Stanley in the buy-side divisions until 2008. Thereafter, he drove the expansion of Hong Kong’s largest quad-play media company, PCCW Media, in developing the overseas content acquisition and broadcasting departments. Joseph is an alumnus of St. George’s School and Cornell University. Having grown up in Vancouver, he is the third generation descendant of Mr. Fung King Hey, who founded Sun Hung Kai & Co. which once held the largest single equity stake in Merrill Lynch. Joseph’s father, Mr. Thomas Fung, moved to Canada in 1984 to start Fairchild Group. Since then it has become both a commercial and charitable foundation that has funded millions in education, disaster relief, medical research and art philanthropy. JAKE KERR Jake Kerr is Majority Owner and Managing Partner of Vancouver Professional Baseball LLP. Kerr, along with his partner, Jeff Mooney, acquired the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club in 2007. Prior to 2005, Jake, for 35 years, was Chairman and CEO of Lignum Limited, one of Canada’s largest private forest products companies. He was previously employed by the International Paper Company, New York, New York and was engaged in the advertising business of Botsford Advertising in San Francisco, California. Jake is a recipient of the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia in recognition for his significant contributions to the province and the country. In October 2000, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws Degree from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby. He was educated at the University of British Columbia and received his MBA degree in Economics and Finance from the University of California at Berkeley. Kerr is Chancellor of the Emily Carr University of Art + Design, a Director of the Bank of Nova Scotia and Past Chair of the Vancouver Foundation. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Kerr is a member of the Chief Executive Organization and Past Chairman of the International and B.C. Chapters of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Jake’s interests include art collecting, fly fishing, tennis, golf and baseball. He has five grown children and five grandchildren. CATHERINE MCCAULEY Catherine is a founder and partner of QuinnMcCauley, an advisory firm on strategic giving. Her firm specializes in creating and executing philanthropic strategies for corporations, foundations and individuals worldwide. Catherine’s background includes senior advisory roles with Prime Ministers, Premiers, CEOs, University Presidents and the IOC. Catherine is a founding Board Member of the S’Cool Life Fund (2005-2013) a national foundation that funds projects in public elementary schools across Canada. She has also served numerous community organizations in both Toronto and Vancouver. A graduate of Western, Catherine and her husband Gordon are parents to 3 children including their youngest, Jay, who graduated from St. George’s in 2017. GAIL RUDDY Gail Ruddy is a retired educator, having spent 47 years in the public and independent school systems. Her last position was as Head of York House School where she was for 20 years. Gail has a Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Arts. Supporting the education of our future leaders is the most important role we have. STEVE MUNFORD Steve and his family have recently returned to Vancouver after spending 8 years in the UK where Steve served as CEO of Sophos from 2006 to 2012. During this time, he led the company through a period of dramatic growth to becoming a global leader in computer security with offices in over 30 countries. Steve is currently the non- executive chairman of Sophos and is actively involved in the technology community both in Vancouver and the US serving on a number of private and public boards including Elastic Path, Carbonite (CARB), Core Security, Quick Mobile and Actenum. Previously, before moving to the UK Steve, and his family lived in Vancouver where he led start up ActiveState through to its acquisition by Sophos. Steve also is involved and a supporter of several local charities and while in the UK served on the UK Government technology advisory board. He has a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Queen's University, Ontario. Steve and his wife Pip have three children, Alison, Andrew and Jennifer. Andrew is currently attending St. George's while the girls attend Crofton House School. Page 2 of 3 ANDREA THOMAS HILL Andrea Thomas Hill is the Founder and Chair of the Cause We Care Foundation, a public foundation she started over 10 years ago that raises funds in support of single mothers and children living in poverty in the greater Vancouver area. She’s had a long-standing history in philanthropic work. Andrea was responsible for creating the Run For The Cure for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in Toronto in 1992 and spent several years expanding it across the country before later sitting on the Board of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, BC Chapter for many years before shifting her attention to marginalized single mothers and children. Andrea had a professional career that included over 20 years of experience in marketing communications, both in advertising and direct marketing agencies and in house for corporations such as Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting and BC Hydro. She has sat on the Board for the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society, the Vancouver Aquarium and is on the Acquisitions Committee for the Vancouver Art Gallery. Andrea currently also manages all philanthropic activity for she and her husband’s family office. Andrea graduated from the Bishop Strachan School in Toronto followed by the University of Western Ontario. She and her husband Brian have two children. Their son Oscar is at Saints, Class of 2022. PAUL DUNSTAN Paul is the Founder of Plenary Group Americas. Paul has significant experience in leading the development, financing and management of public infrastructure projects across a range of sectors in both Australia and North America. Plenary Group is presently the developer of over $12 billion worth of infrastructure projects in North America, including among others educational facilities, hospitals, courts, government accommodation, roads and bridges. Prior to being a founder of Plenary Group Paul’s experience included running the infrastructure development business of international bank ABN AMRO , working in mergers and acquisitions and commencing his career with 8 years with Price Waterhouse Coopers. Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Melbourne University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Securities Institute of Australia.
