SG.GC1 cat £250 (1991). £150 2 1796 E.L to 'Col Colin Campbell of infield Dumbartonshire Fencibles, Guernsey'. 1/2 M/Script charge on face & M/Script 1/4 on rear. Minor soils & filing fold o/w sound cond. £20 3 1802 wrapper to London from unknown sender with 1/8 m/script charge & good 2nd type Guernsey concave H/S. SG.GC2 cat £250 (1991). M/script 'Porter Blusklin Woolpack' at top & London B/S. Light soils but sound. £160 4 1802 wrapper to London with m/script charge 10d & good 2nd type Guernsey curve H/S dated 13 Mar 1802. Filing folds & small edge fault o/w good cond. £15 6 1815 (Mar 18th) E.L to Mr John Dunlop writer in Edinburgh from John Geig Edinburgh M/Script 1/4 in black & P/1/5 in red on face partly over a fair-good Guernsey scroll type SG GC 5 cat £130 (1991). Tombstone Paid H/S in red of London partly over scroll with Edinburgh octagonal receiving H/S in red below. Footnote at bottom of letter, 'You will recollect there are no stamps on this island'. Odd. £50 7 1816 E.L. to Priaulx Guernsey endorsed on rear from Forwarding Agents Dupy, Fromy Freres 23 Nov 1816 ex Leghorn to Guernsey & forwarded from St Malo. Scarcer Letter Forwarding Agents only operating 1815-16. Mostly good cond. £80 8 1816 wrapper from H.B.M's Consular Office at Corunna Spain to Priaulx Guernsey with weak Consular cachet. Endorsed 'Par, St Malo' & endorsed by Letter Forwarding Agent Louis Blaize & Fils par St Malo at bottom. Fine, two line, Espagne/Par Bayonne cachet at top & good cond. £50 9 1819 E.L. from Guernsey to Thomas Dobree at Nantes endorsed at bottom from St Malo Letter Forwarding Agent Louis Blaize & Sons. Good 34/St Malo Town H/S in two lines, SG.CF17 & mostly good cond. £60 10 1822 E.L to Huth & Co, London from Buenos aires with printed 'Prices Current' inside ex Bertram Armstrong & Co, B. aires. M/Script 2/2 charge on face & fair Guernsey scroll on flap SG GC 5 cat £130 (1991) with London D/R pmk in red alongside. Small stain along file fold o/w good cond. £40 11 1823 (20 May) E.L prepaid Packet Letter addr to Lisbon with M/Script P 2/7 charge mark in red with fair oval Lisboa arrival H/S bottom left with '350' in M/Script at top for 350 Reis charge. This ex John Le Marchant to James Finnie in Lisbon. M/Script P 1/6 in red on left flap & fair-good Guernsey scroll H/S on right flap. SG GC 5 cat £130 (1991). Le Marchant was a letter forwarding agent around this time. Very good cond. £70 12 1823 E.L from McKane Guernsey to Huth London with 1/1 charge, weak London D/R & feint type 2 Guernsey scroll both on rear. SG GC5 cat £130. M/Script 4/3 charge on rear? £40 13 1823 env to St Malo probably from Guernsey with m/script '18' charge & "20" at left with very fine two line black, Grande-Bretagne/Par St Malo H/S top right. SG.CF11. No B/S & minor edge soil & creases o/w sound. £100 14 1823 Large part E.L to a Captain Edmond Lyons R.N Southampton, redirected to The Admiralty in red ink & with M/Script Not Known in same ink written through & further redirection to Marsh Great Scotland Yard again written through. M/Script 'Due 1d' & M/Script 1/6 charge & 2/7 charge on flap with London S/R pmks 23 & 25 No 1823 & black boxed Bagshot/Py Post H/S on flap & M/script Guernsey & weak further 'Postage to London not Paid' H/S in red on face. Minor soils o/w sound. Much travelled E.L. £40 15 1824 Wrapper addr to Solicitors at, Lincoln's Inn London with M/Script 1/1 charge on face & 8/- charge on flap. Alongside this a fair Guernsey scroll H/S type SG GC 4 cat £130 (1991) & part London D/R arrival pmk in red. Very good cond. £35 16 1828 E.L to 'Berrisford of Guernsey' from Printers Le Brun & Dubreuil of rouen with invoice printed within. No postal or M/Script charge marks but despatched via Cherbourg presumably by hand. Spike hole/Break on face & through centre invoice o/w sound & complete with small map & p/copy inside. £20 17 1830 E.L Addr to Lt Col De Havilland Guernsey 15 Oct 1830 from London detailing sale of Spanish Bonds & Purchase of Brazilian Bonds. Good 90% strike black boxed Guernsey/Ship Letter H/S on rear. SG GC 8 type 5 cat £450 (1991) with fine London S/R pmk below in red code H 20 Fe 1840. Endorsed 'Prepaid' at top & scarcer item into Fort George. Minor soil o/w good cond for these. £50 28 1849 Wrapper to Halstead with QV 1d red miscut 4 margin copy canc good-fine 324 barred oval H/S. Superb Halstead D/arc H/S in green on flap partly over a London S/R pmk in red. Good cond for these. £35 29 1849-58 Group env's, E.L & wrapper to Guernsey (2), UK (2) & Ireland all with fair-good Guernsey D/Arc H/S on rear in black, orange, green, blue & light blue. All with 1d red imperfs or 1d Stars perf but with poor cancellations on face. Cond fair-good. 5 items. £25 30 1852 QV 1d pink prepaid env to UK canc fair 324 barred oval H/S with London S/R pmk in red & good strike Guernsey D/Arc H/S in blue on rear No 22 1852 (code missing on application). Minor creasing but clean & sound. £15 31 1856 Stampless env to Saint Malo canc fine Guernsey D'Arc pmk in blue Ja 21 1856 + PD in circle in blue alongside. SG CF94. At top a pair good-fine Iles-C St Malo D/C pmks in red 22 Jan 56. SG CF 38 & M/Script 4 in red at left. Light overall soiling & sound cond. £40 32 1856 Tiny env with contents to 'Sir Thomas Le Breton, Bailiff,' 1 Terrace from Government House Sept 8 1856' regarding Rent of Horses for Their Majesties. Requesting Bailiff to submit his account to the States of Deliberation. Small account written on outside of env for total of 44.13.4½.
