Dr S Sumayaa, was the President IDA Kilakarai Chapter and Principal and Head Department of Food and Nutrition Research Centre, TBAK College for Women (Autonomous), Kilakarai. Ms. Evelyn Boyko,B.Hec.,RD Nutrition Support Dietitian Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), Winnipeg, Canada and Dr Meera Kaur, PhD, RD , CDE, Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada delivered their lectures on “ Hospital Malnutrition and its Subjective Global Assessment (SGA). They further continued with Refeeding Syndrome, Nutritional Management of Pancreatitis, Critical Care Nutrition which was an eye- opener to all the students, Research Scholars and Dietitians. Dr Meenakshi Bajaj, MSc, CDE, RD, CCN (US), Madras Medical College & Rajiv Gandhi Govt. General Hospital, Chennai presented on the topic, “ Management of Diabetes Mellitus, Glucose Monitoring, Carbohydrate counting and Renal Diseases”. Dr G Sivaraman, MD, Arogya Siddha Hospital, Chennai delivered on the topic,“Food is Medicine”. Prof Dr Ram Rajasekharan, Director, Central Food Technology Research Institute [CFTRI], Mysuru. He presented on the topic, “Super Foods CSIR- CFTRI shows the way to healthier India” and stressed on the importance of Chia seeds and Quinoa grains which has nutritional importance in day to day life. The presidential address was given by Thiru S Rethinavelu, Chairman and Managing Director, Tamilnadu Food Grains Marketing Yard Ltd., Madurai, Dr C Anandharamakrishnan, Director, Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology [IICPT], Thanjavur and gave a lecture on “Nano food Particle Application & Development of Dynamic Gastrointestinal System”. Dt Sheela Krishnaswamy, RD, IDA National President, Bangalore, Dr Vasantha Esther Rani, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Home Science with Food Biotechnology, Fatima College, Madurai, Dr Ramasamy Kalavathy, Head of Clinical Nutrition and Food Service Department, Ministry of Health, Ras- Al-Khaimah , UAE delivered speech on “ Medical Nutrition Therapy in Renal Disorder”, followed by Dr P Nazni gave a keynote speech on “ Role of Nutraceuticals in human health”, Dr Dinender K Singla, PhD, FAHA, FIACS, Professor and Head, Division of Metabolic and Cardiovascular Sciences, Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Central Florida, Orlando, USA presented on the topic “Effects of stem cells and high fat diet in cardiac health”, Concurrent sessions on Oral Presentations on the topics- Clinical Nutrition and Experimental Nutrition, Community Nutrition and Food Science and Technology were presented by the Research Scholars Prof Dr B K C Mohan Prasad, Senior Consultant Oncologist, Mohan’s Medicity Hospital, Madurai gave a speech on “Women and Cancer”, Dr S Kowsalya, Professor, Department of Biochemistry and Food Science and Nutrition, THASSIM BEEVI ABDUL KADER COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (Autonomous & Re-accredited), kilakarai – 623517 DEPARTMENT OF HOMESCIENCE & RESEARCH CENTER DEPARTMENT OF ACTIVITIES OF ACADEMIC YEAR 2016-2017 Avinashilingam university, Coimbatore presented on the topic, “Role of Functional Food Nanoparticles in diseases”. Dr Satyendra Singh, Professor, Marketing and International Business, President- Academy of Business and Emerging Markets, Editor-in- Chief, International Journal of Business and Emerging Markets, University of Winnipeg, Winnipeg, Canada gave his lecture on “ Misleading Food Advertisements and Detection”, Dr C Ravinder Singh, Scientist C, Division of Non- Communicable Diseases, Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi gave his deliberations on “Diet and Mental Health”, Dr S Uma Mageshwari, Associate Professor, Department of Food Service Management and Dietetics, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore presented on the topic “Nutritional Management in Obesity”, Dr Sue Royappa, MD, Physician American Board of Internal Medicine, Chief Medical Officer, San Diego, USA gave her speech on “ Different Aspects like the comparison of eating behavior between India and US”, Dr A J Hemamalini MSc., M. Ed., PhD., RD, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Clinical Nutrition, Sri Ramachandra Medical University, Porur, Chennai presented on the topic “Pediatric Nutrition”, Dr C Ramasubramanian MD, DPM., PhD State Nodal Officer, Mental Health program & M. S Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation, Madurai who is well known personality presented on the topic “Role of Nutrients in Stress & Depression”, Dr V Kumaravel, Director and Endrocrinologist, Alpha Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai delivered a lecture on the topic “Endocrinological Aspects of Diabetes”, Dr A Thahira Banu, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science, Gandhigram Rural Institute, Gandhigram, Dindigul gave a lecture on “ Therapeutic uses of Seaweeds”, After the program the public visited the stalls and purchased many health products which were exhibited and open for all. Ms Sheriffa A Azeez, Correspondent, All Crescent Girls School, Seethakathi Trust Chennai gave away the Valedictory address followed by felicitation by Rev Sr Arul Mary. Superior Fatima College Convent, Assistant Dean of Research, Fatima College, Madurai. The Best performance award was distributed to the Oral/ Poster presenters and were awarded with a memento and certificates. Mrs Qurrath Jameela, Patron, Seethakathi NGO, Ramanathapuram, Ms Evelyn Boyko,B.Hec.,RD Nutrition Support Dietitian Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), Winnipeg, Canada and Dr Meera Kaur, PhD, RD , CDE, Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada gave away the prizes to the Winners. Department of Food Processing and Quality Control participated in the ICFHN-2016. 06.07.16 Dr Sumayaa, Principal and Head, Department of Home Science and Research Centre to attended a Mid-term NEC Meeting organized by Indian Dietetic Association at Kolkata. 08.07.16 01.08.16 Breastfeeding week was celebrated from 1 -7th August 2016. Healthy and Nutritious foods was prepared and displayed in the traditional food mela and won the First prize TBAKC Kilakarai. 07.08.16 III BSc NFSM&D Students Eight accompanied by Ms J Shiny Joe and P Yohitha, Assistant Professors participated in the Nutritional Awareness Programme and prepared weaning food for the infants at Puthumayakulam and they received the participation certificates. 9.8.16 Department of Home Science celebrated the Breast Feeding Week and conducted competitions such as Poster Painting and quiz for our college students on the topic, Best Beginning for Breast Feeding.     RAMANATHAPURAM DISTRICT EXTRACT OF RULE 4(1) (B) OF THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT- 2005 i) The particulars of its organization, functions and duties :- Organisation :- The Ramanathapuram Police district was created on 11.03.1985 as per G.O.Ms.No.57. It has the jurisdiction of Ramanathapuram Revenue district. It has 6 police sub – divisions viz. Ramanathapuram, Paramakudi, Kamuthi, Rameswaram, Keelakarai and Thiruvadanai. The district is under the charge of the Superintendent of Police assisted by Additional Superintendent of Police, Crime and Prohibition and Deputy Superintendents in charge of 6 sub – divisions and the special units District Crime branch, District Crime Records Bureau and Prohibition. The 6 sub – divisions have been divided into 12 circles which are under the charge of inspectors of Police, helped in some cases by Sub – Inspectors. Circles are sub - divided into Police stations under the charge of Sub – Inspectors who are assisted by an appropriate number of police officers in the rank of Head Constable, Grade I Police constable and Grade II Police constable.
