The Winterhawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first head-to-head meeting of the season in Kent, REGULAR SEASON SERIES: WA, eventually beating the Chiefs 4-3. Brock Gould earned his first win as a Winterhawk turning aside 30 of 33 shots in the SPOKANE 0-1-0-0 | PORTLAND 1-0-0-0 game. Seven different Winterhawks recorded a point in the win, including four different goal scorers and three multipoint performers. Spokane battled back from a 4-1 deficit with a little over 12 minutes to play in the game and made it a one goal contest. Adam Beckman, Reed Jacobson and Mac Gross (WHL first) scored in the game for the Chiefs. The Hawks struck twice shorthanded on Campbell Arnold. NOTABLES... Portland is currently fourth in the WHL and first in the U.S. Division in shots for per game (34.44). Three Winterhawks (Knak, Newkirk, Jarvis) are all on point-per-game paces to start the season. The Hawks have added affilate 1-4-2-1 4-3-2-0 player and forward Luke Schelter to the roster. Schelter signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement in March. The Portland Winterhawks are proud to announce three players have been named to NHL Central Scouting’s Players to Watch List for the 2022 NHL Draft. Forward Jack O’Brien was listed as a B-rated prospect for the summer’s draft and Simon Knak and Tyson Kozak each tabbed C ratings before the start of the WHL’s season. Winterhawks forward Seth Jarvis finished second in the WHL in league scoring with 98 2020-21 points (42G-56A) in 58 games and he averages more than a point-per-game in his WHL career. After his sensational SCHEDULE & RESULTS season, the Carolina Hurricanes drafted Jarvis 13th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
