They put together all the safety checks, training sequences as well as running the different training sections. Without dedicated people like this we would not have the success we get at our training clinics. I also would like to thank each and every member who also pitched in and helped . We are having a hard time com- pleting our training this year because of the Covid virus limiting what we can do. If anyone was having any prob- lems we offered zoom meetings to our members with the help of Jason. We have now completed two training days and a test that went well, and the dogs did very well. Our outside judge Craig McLaughin, made a point to compli- ment our chapter’s training and how well prepared our testing dogs were. He mentioned that he has not seen this in other chapters he has judged around the country in previous years. This only shows how the chapter’s hard work and planning has paid off for the membership and their dogs. The first engineer for Kansas City’s Municipal Auditorium, Roche installed and operated the then state of-the-art audio system. He meticulously documented music and civic events, including performances of the Kansas City Philharmonic. In 1952, Roche established Crown Recording Studio. Crown quickly became one of Kansas City’s leading studios. Over the years, Roche recorded thousands of bands, choruses and radio programs including the Kansas City Hour. Roche produced tapes for the Nazarene Church that were distributed internationally. During the 1980s, he preserved the open-reel tapes and instantaneous cut discs for the Harry Truman Presidential Library. Warner Brothers stable of Western stars included (l to r) Will Hutchins – Sugarfoot, Peter Brown – Deputy Johnny McKay in Lawman, Jack Kelly – Bart Maverick, Ty Hardin – Bronco, James Garner – Bret Maverick, Wade Preston – Colt .45, and John Russell – Marshal Dan Troupe in Lawman, circa 1958. Westerns became popular in the early years of television, in the era before television signals were broadcast in color. During the years from 1959 to 1961, thirty-two different Westerns aired in prime time. The television stars that we saw every night were larger than life. In addition to the many western movie stars, many of our heroes and role models were the western television actors like John Russell and Peter Brown of Lawman, Clint Walker on Cheyenne, James Garner on Maverick, James Drury as the Virginian, Chuck Connors as the Rifleman and Steve McQueen of Wanted: Dead or Alive, and the list goes on. As western dramas on radio and television developed, some of them incorporated a combination of cowboy and hillbilly shtick in many western movies and later in TV shows like Gunsmoke.

    AKC Education Webinar Series: FSS/Miscellaneous Questions and Answers 1. Can an FSS Parent Club offer an ATT Test? If the Parent Club is licensed to hold any event, it may offer an ATT Test. 2. For a domestically evolving breed that started with an independent registry for 20 years, then accepted into UKC for an additional 20 years, can these two be combined to qualify for the 40 years required to be considered into FSS, or must the 40 be done within the same registry body? The history of a breed having a registry for a minimum of 40 years can be merged as described, staff will review to determine if it would meet the parameters required. 3. Does AKC have reciprocity with UKC? AKC has open registration with individual breeds with that are registered by UKC. A breed requesting to be enrolled in the AKC FSS based upon UKC recognition would have reciprocity, if it meets the number of years being in existence, until the breed becomes AKC recognized. At which time the individual breeds may request to keep the studbook open for UKC registered dogs. 4. Is it a good practice to submit all of the required data to AKC in one PDF electronically to FSS as a final submission, once all criteria is met for the ease of processing? The FSS Department keeps track of required data, meeting minutes maybe a PDF, the other requirements need to be in different formats. Breed Standard needs to be a word document, membership list needs to be in an Excel as provided.
