He lettered four times in both basketball and ball team from 1929 to 1930. In 1938, he was named the baseball, basketball and assistant football coach of Austin baseball. Neu was voted St. Edward’s Most Valuable Player in basketball 1949-1950 and 1951. Neu remembers High School and became one of the most successful coaches in Austin history. He was a coach at AHS for 15 years attending the National Catholic Basketball Tournament in Denver in March 1949 and scoring 41 points and grabbing and later became athletic director of AISD for 18 years. The Toney Burger Activity Center on US-290 West is named 22 rebounds in one game against Texas Lutheran. He passed away on March 14, 2002. in his honor. BURKE O’ROURKE - INDUCTION 1989 | Burke O’ Rourke attended SEU from 1949 to 1951. He lettered once in JOSEPH BYRNE - IINDUCTION 1987 | Joseph Byrne, along with his brothers, were some of the first students to at- baseball in 1949 and twice in basketball in 1949 and 1950. JAMES ELLISON - INDUCTION 1991 | James Ellison is a 1979 graduate of St. Edward’s University, and lettered MIKE OTOLSKI - INDUCTION 1991 | Otolski, a 1967 graduate, played basketball and baseball at St. Edward’s.
