EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Scheme of Mining plan is prepared in respect of Multi Coloured quarry belongs to Selvi.Deborah Manickam. The lease was granted to vide G.O.(3D) No. 6 Industries (MMB.2) Department Dated 16.01.2006 for an over an Extent of 1.23.0 Ha located in S.F.Nos. 906/1(Part) of Thavarakarai Village, Denkanikottai Taluk and Krishnagiri District for a period of four years subjected to submission of Environmental clearance from MoEF, New Delhi, consent for Establishment and Consent for operation from TNPCB. Life of period The Second Scheme of quarrying is prepared to submission for a period of four years (2017-2021). Production capacity The proposed quantity (40%) is about 8100m3 (or) 1431 Lorry Loads of Multi Coloured Granite for a period of four years. The quarry operation is proposed up to depth for 40m (20m above ground level +20m Below Ground Level) at present scenario considering for the entire lease period. The applicant proposed up to a depth of 5m during this scheme period. EMP cost = Rs. 2,55,000/- Total cost = Rs. 49, 05,000/- PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT OF THAVARAKARAI MULTI COLOURED GRANITE QUARRY DEBORAH MANICKAM UNDER EIA NOTIFICATION 2006 The Prefeasibility report preparing for following condition of Government of India Ministry of Environment and Forests (No.L-11011/47/2011 –IA-II (M) Dated: 24th June, 2013) Ponnai RF & Ulibanda RF is situated 5.0km & 8km away from the S & SW side of the area. Vannama Lake is situated 8km away from the Northwestern side of the area. Odai is passing 2km away from the Southwestern side of the area. Cauvery wildlife sanctuary is located 5.0km away from the SW side of the area. The Interstate boundary is situated 11km away from the Western side of the area. There is no Western Ghats region within the radius of 15km. There is no HACA region within the radius of 15km. There is no CRZ within the radius of 15km. There are no Bird sanctuaries and National park as Act 1972, within the radius of 15kms. PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT OF THAVARAKARAI MULTI COLOURED GRANITE QUARRY DEBORAH MANICKAM UNDER EIA NOTIFICATION 2006 The following information provided by the applicant I have applied for Environmental Clearance to MoEF, New Delhi for quarry lease for quarrying of Multi Coloured Granite in S.F.Nos: 906/1(Part) for over an extent of 1.23.0 Ha in Thavarakarai Village, Denkanikottai Taluk and Krishnagiri District. I swear to state and confirm that within 10km area of the quarry site, I have applied for environmental clearance; none of the following is situated. Protected areas notified under the wild life (Protection) Act, 1972 Critically polluted areas as notified by the central pollution control board constituted Under water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974. Interstate boundaries and international boundaries within 10km radius from the boundary of the proposed site. There is no quarry located within the radius of 500m from the periphery of proposed quarry lease area. There will not be any hindrance or disturbance to the people living no enroute / nearby our quarry site while transporting the mineral our material and due to quarrying activities. No habitation/ Village are located within 500m radius from the periphery of my quarry. I swear that Afforestation will be carried out during the course of quarrying operation and maintained. The required insurance will be taken in the name of the labourers working in my quarry site. Approach road belongs to me only and no other private patta roads encountered. I will not engage any child labour in our quarry site and I aware that engaging child labour is punishable under the law. All types of safety / protective equipment will be provided to all the labourers working in my quarry. No permanent structures, temples etc., are located within 500m radius from the periphery of my quarry. PRE FEASIBILITY REPORT OF THAVARAKARAI MULTI COLOURED GRANITE QUARRY DEBORAH MANICKAM UNDER EIA NOTIFICATION 2006 (ii) Brief description of nature of the project Mining: The area exhibits exhibits hilly terrain and sloping towards southwest side. The Multi Coloured Granite Exposures are well exposed along the linear strike Direction. The Multi Coloured Granite quarrying operation is proposed to carry out by opencast Semi mechanized method by formation of benches with a height of 5mts and width of bench is 5mts. The quantity of Mineable reserves of Multi Coloured Granite: The total quantity of Mineable reserves of Multi Coloured Granite (40%) block is about 31864m3 and Total Granite waste (60%) is 47796m3 up to depth of 40m (20m above ground level +20m Below Ground Level) for the entire life of period.

The Melagiris form part of an almost unbroken stretch of forests connecting Bannerghatta National Park (which forms its north-western boundary) to the forests of Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary - Karnataka (which forms its southern boundary, separated by the river Cauvery), and further to Biligirirangan hills and Sathyamangalam forests. The northern and western parts are comparatively plain and is part of the Mysore plateau. The average elevation in this region is 500-1000 m. Ground sinks to 300m in the valley of the Cauvery and the highest point is the peak of Guthereyan at 1395.11 m. Red sandy loam is the most common soil type found in this region. Small deposits of alluvium are found along Cauvery and Chinnar rivers and Kaoline is found in some areas near Jowlagiri. The temperature ranges from 10°C ± 35°C. South-west monsoon is fairly active mostly in the northern areas, but north-east monsoon is distinctly more effective in the region.

    CHAPTER – III AGRO CLIMATIC ZONE PROFILE This chapter portrays the Tamil Nadu economy and its environment. The features of the various Agro-climatic zones are presented in a detailed way to highlight the endowment of natural resources. This setting would help the project to corroborate with the findings and justify the same. Based on soil characteristics, rainfall distribution, irrigation pattern, cropping pattern and other ecological and social characteristics, the State Tamil Nadu has been classified into seven agro-climatic zones. The following are the seven agro-climatic zones of the State of Tamil Nadu. 1. Cauvery Delta zone 2. North Eastern zone 3. Western zone 4. North Western zone 5. High Altitude zone 6. Southern zone and 7. High Rainfall zone 1. Cauvery Delta Zone This zone includes Thanjavur district, Musiri, Tiruchirapalli, Lalgudi, Thuraiyur and Kulithalai taluks of Tiruchirapalli district, Aranthangi taluk of Pudukottai district and Chidambaram and Kattumannarkoil taluks of Cuddalore and Villupuram district. Total area of the zone is 24,943 sq.km. in which 60.2 per cent of the area i.e., 15,00,680 hectares are under cultivation. And 50.1 per cent of total area of cultivation i.e., 7,51,302 19 hectares is the irrigated area. This zone receives an annual normal rainfall of 956.3 mm. It covers the rivers ofCauvery, Vennaru, Kudamuruti, Paminiar, Arasalar and Kollidam. The major dams utilized by this zone are Mettur and Bhavanisagar. Canal irrigation, well irrigation and lake irrigation are under practice. The major crops are paddy, sugarcane, cotton, groundnut, sunflower, banana and ginger. Thanjavur district, which is known as “Rice Bowl” of Tamilnadu, comes under this zone.
