By all accounts they are an extremely lazy, unorganised, arrogant band, but for a brief moment captured the zeitgeist, so a lot of people of my generation are prepared to give them a hell of a lot of slack. Only disappointment was the lack of new information of the wilderness years Ian Brown, the frontman of the Stone Roses, had no intention of becoming a singer until one night, at a party in Manchester, he floated into a chance encounter with Geno Washington, a soul singer who told Brown he had star quality and ought to make the most of it. However, it would have been vastly improved had there been more information about the socioeconomic and musical history of Manchester; as well as many more personal anecdotes of which there were some, but not enough.
