Motion from Councillor Padraig Fallon: I propose to ask when dog fouling bins will be installed in Tullaghan and Drumkeeran and that they are installed as soon as is possible. 4. Motion from Councillor Padraig Fallon: At a previous Municipal District Meeting, dates were given for repairs to lighting at back lane, Lugmeen, Drumkeeran, I was told lighting would be in place by November, December 2020. When will the lighting be operational here? 5. Motion from Councillor Felim Gurn: Can Leitrim County Council look at the possibility of providing a new car park for the community of Dromahair, where parking is identified as an essential necessity for the community? 6. Motion from Councillor Felim Gurn: Coillte are the biggest landowners in Co. Leitrim it is essential to have a look at providing mountain bike trails and walkways through our forestry and to identify funding streams to enable outdoor activities to take place in the Manorhamilton Municipal District Area. 7. Motion from Councillor Sean McDermott: Can we alleviate fears that the smaller libraries might not reopen when the lockdown ends? 8. Motion from Councillor Sean McDermott: Can an update be given on the proposed new council office space in Manorhamilton? 9. Motion from Councillor Justin Warnock: I ask Leitrim County Council to identify how many private houses are listed as vacant in the most recent data available to them, for the Manorhamilton Municipal District Area and how are these measured, for e.g. would properties which have been unoccupied for more than 30 years continue to be counted? 10. Motion from Councillor Justin Warnock: I ask the Area Engineer, Sean Rynn, to have the surface of the footpaths in Millbrook Estate, Kinlough assessed to determine what works are necessary to be undertaken and to seek funding to repair and leave them safe for the residents. 11. Motion from Councillor Frank Dolan: I ask that further traffic calming measures be put in place at Mill Hill Lawns in Manorhamilton in order to address the speeding and reckless driving that is taking place in this estate presently. 12. Motion from Councillor Mary Bohan: What progress has been made by Leitrim County Council regarding the provision of a walkway from Drumkeeran village to Spencer Harbour amenity area. 13. Motion from Councillor Mary Bohan: What is the current position regarding the provision of traffic calming measures in the village of Dromahair? .

Correspondence from Antoinette O’Donnell, Branch Manager, AIB - Manorhamilton Branch, in relation to the provision of an on-street ATM Cllr Felim Gurn outlined dissatisfaction with the reply and stated that any reference to a lack of footfall by the banks can be attributed to the Covid-19 restrictions. Cllr Gurn also outlined the need for a Government fund to purchase disused bank buildings and bring them under community control.

Readers of his fiction inevitably note strong similarities between the figures and landscapes it evokes and the people and places the writer knew in real life. He was acutely aware of how important it was to write from personal knowledge, from everyday experience, in order to capture the beauty that can be found in the ordinary experiences of people going about their daily lives in small rural communities, mostly located in the Leitrim/Roscommon area where McGahern spent the majority of his life. His characters and settings are at times painfully real, whether it be the stoical Elizabeth Reegan in The Barracks (1963), who, on the threshold of a painful death from cancer, really “sees” the beauty of nature for the first time; or the uncertain groping towards adulthood of young Mahoney in The Dark (1965); the tyrannical actions of the patriarch Moran in Amongst Women (1990); or the unrelenting womanizing John Quinn in That They May Face the Rising Sun (2002).

THE LIST of CHURCH OF IRELAND PARISH REGISTERS A Colour-coded Resource Accounting For What Survives; Where It Is; & With Additional Information of Copies, Transcripts and Online Indexes SEPTEMBER 2021 The List of Parish Registers The List of Church of Ireland Parish Registers was originally compiled in-house for the Public Record Office of Ireland (PROI), now the National Archives of Ireland (NAI), by Miss Margaret Griffith (1911-2001) Deputy Keeper of the PROI during the 1950s. Griffith’s original list (which was titled the Table of Parochial Records and Copies) was based on inventories returned by the parochial officers about the year 1875/6, and thereafter corrected in the light of subsequent events - most particularly the tragic destruction of the PROI in 1922 when over 500 collections were destroyed. A table showing the position before 1922 had been published in July 1891 as an appendix to the 23rd Report of the Deputy Keeper of the Public Records Office of Ireland. In the light of the 1922 fire, the list changed dramatically – the large numbers of collections underlined indicated that they had been destroyed by fire in 1922. The List has been updated regularly since 1984, when PROI agreed that the RCB Library should be the place of deposit for Church of Ireland registers. Under the tenure of Dr Raymond Refaussé, the Church’s first professional archivist, the work of gathering in registers and other local records from local custody was carried out in earnest and today the RCB Library’s parish collections number 1,114. The Library is also responsible for the care of registers that remain in local custody, although until they are transferred it is difficult to ascertain exactly what dates are covered.

Northern & Western Regional Assembly REGIONAL CO-WORKING ANALYSIS FOREWORD The outbreak of COVID-19 has had a profound impact on all of our working environments. In a matter of weeks, the operations of many private sector companies – whose activities were traditionally concentrated within urban areas – have been forced to suddenly shift to remote working, with companies utilising technology and adopting work practises in a manner and scale never seen before. With remote working very much becoming part of normal working patterns in certain sectors, it is clear that such changes have the potential to open up an array of economic and environmental opportunities for all of our regions. By supporting remote working, policy makers could help provide a wider range of options for workers and open opportunities for business solutions. This includes allowing some workers to live and work in geographical areas of their own choice, reducing business costs associated with commercial properties, staff retention and wellbeing benefits, access to a greater pool of applicants and talent, increasing productivity, reducing traffic congestion, enhancing quality of life and family time and reducing the level of greenhouse gas emissions from car usage.
